Oh no I'll be really sad when he goes 😭
I like Mick as a character and I'll miss him.

And why bring Linda back if he's going? I've had enough of her.

Danny has great presence but he's limited as an actor. I'm sick of him with Linda but was hoping he'd get it on with Janine.

I reckon he'll be wanting to come back in a few years.
The actress who plays Linda was on maternity leave so they can’t just get rid of her. Max will probably come back now and they’ll run the Vic. Honestly an alcoholic running a pub, as if! 🙄

Making Linda pregnant too was a bad decision.

Not a spoiler, just speculation, I think the actress will return from mat leave and that will be the trigger for the Carter's leaving. The only way for Mick to be a proper father to Annie is by them moving away.

I can't see Rose staying much longer now either.

Nancy can sod off too.

When was the last time there was a Chinese family on the show?
Never that I can remember. They could introduce a Chinese family or an Eastern European family or a Jewish family or a Turkish family.

The possibilities are endless but they need to think carefully about the characters and not just go for box ticking and employing poor actors. Eastenders has often introduced families where 1 or 2 of the actors are strong but other family members let them down.

I wouldn't mind seeing a new family run the Vic (unless Shirley is going to be the next landlady).

What about Eastern European? Chinese population is a lot lower in inner London.

The Square could definitely take at least 2 new families. Mick leaving, hopefully take the rest of the Carter's with him. The Beales are just Peter and Kathy and Bobbh, the Mitchell's aren't what they used to be. Slaters are just a mess. Panesar's haven't hit hard and are already leaving.

When you look, there isn't a top tier family at the moments, like the Mitchell's, Brannings, Slater's etc.

I think they'll do something predictable like have Janine take over the pub. It would be better to introduce a new family. Like you said there's no top tier family at the moment

EE just posted this on Facebook, well done whoever called it!

I’m sure DD always said he would never do a soap until the work started drying up. Anyone remember when he recommended cutting someone’s girlfriend in a magazine advice column? He never really recovered from that.

He'd be finished "cancelled" if he said that today - but he somehow did recover from it. He's on a £1 million a year deal with the BBC and the reason he's leaving EE is because he has so many offers coming in.

He was first offered EE in 2009. I always thought it'd be a great fit for him but he said he'd never do it until he was 'bald, fat and fifty' or something along those lines. Guess he changed his mind when he ran out of money and was reduced to doing stuff like 'Run for your wife'. EE saved him.

What are our predictions for Danny's exit story? I want a happy ending for Mick & Linda but that's probably not dramatic enough for EE - unless they want him to come back in a few years or he's said he'd like to return. I wonder if they'll kill him off? Maybe Janine will strike again...

I am so here for Janine racking up her body count!!

I hope they don't kill Mick off so that he is free to return in the future. They've made that mistake once too often in the past.

The age expectancy rates in Walford must be considerably lower than elsewhere in the country, despite the fact that Walford General has individual rooms available for everyone 😃
