I just don't understand why the writers find it so difficult to keep ratings up. All they have to do is look at what people are saying on social media and threads like this to see what people want. It's the same stuff people have been saying for years. If they'd just listen to the fans for once they could save themselves a lot of bother!

Alcoholism traumatises families. Even when Mick said to Ollie “You will sleep at Mummy’s sometimes and here sometimes”. Leaving a child overnight with an alcoholic that is actively drinking? Wtf!

I forget why Max can’t see Annie? Can someone remind me? As if not then why on Earth is it okay that they play God and don’t let Annie know her dad and Mick plays dad. I’m probably missing some big thing here that I’ve forgotten!

They didn't want Max to know about Annie in case he ran off with her like he did Abi. He doesn't even know she exists lol
 
I watch some of the old ones and was creeped out by Honey acting motherly towards Jay. Ick.

Linda dying through alcoholism would be interesting. I know alcohol problems are rife among pub landlords and it’s crazy that they went back to running a pub after the booze almost killed her the first time. Or maybe her drinking could cause Mick’s death somehow? He almost died saving her from the boat.

There's plenty of characters who have been through a lot. Phil is like the Terminator, for example.

Yes. I wish he wasn't a murderer, they would've been good together.
 
I don’t take much notice of who’s writing the episodes these days but there was one who used to do them someone Ashworth I think his name was and he’d do some really good ones.
Does he still do them?
Danny’s contract ends at the end of the year from what I’ve read, so that gives plenty of time to get the exits right.

Simon Ashdown? He wrote Chantelle’s murder among others and yeah he’s now moved on.
