I think Ru kicked off because he’d had to isolate and couldn’t get out of it. Like in normal times he’d have easily got round it by the celebrity ‘don’t you know who I am!!’But there was no way the bbc could it have let him get out of it. He knew the uk public would have found out and his profile in this country would have tanked. So he kicked off to the only people who he felt were obliged to take it. The contestants.

Ahh yes I’ve found my people! Been such a fan of drag race for years but I literally can’t watch the US version anymore! I wasn’t expecting much from the UK one but it’s such a breath of fresh air!
My absolute fave this season is Bimini! I don’t get why she’s not getting more love from the judges! All of her looks have been so good (apart from the balloon one
) I also find them really attractive!
Was gutted about Joe
His runway this week had me howling! But I agree, in the performance he wasn’t great. I do think he’s too good for the show, his looks are so clever, I just think they go over Ru’s head.
Top 4 are deffo gonna be Bimini, Tayce, Lawrence and A’whora

Yes! I feel so much goes over Ru’s head she doesn’t quite get our humour as much as she tries. And it really bothers me when Michelle acts like she knows all about UK pop culture and throwing in the odd towie comment and slang word. I get she’s spent a lot of time over here but it’s not the same.
Felt sorry for Joe Black this week but being from Brighton myself she is just in a whole other category to the others and I don’t think her style of drag worked for the bbc.
Also please can someone help me get that bloody bing bang bong song out of my head

Controversial, but I actually really like Michelle. She’s mellowed a lot, I can’t remember if it was on series 6 or on All
Stars but I remember she was really hard on Adore and I really felt for Adore

Michelle is a huge Anglophile but whenever she comes to the U.K. she stays in her London apartment and doesn’t leave London. She’s a Londonphile, basically

Ru said it herself: If you had my make up artists and wardrobe you'd look like this too. Ru hasn't done her own make up in 20 years or so!
I like the Uk queen's are not all 'polished' and have their own unique personalities. Drag Race was supposed to be a parody of Top Model and now it's taking itself a bit too seriously.

I can kind of see where RuPaul’s frustration is coming from - he’s travelled around the world in the middle of a pandemic, he’s isolated for 2 weeks but some of the queens haven’t grasped that their aesthetic needs to be moulded to the task rather than trying to shoehorn their aesthetic into the task.
I thought Joe Black looked fabulous but she looked like a silent movie star - as far away from Eurotrash girl group as you could get. And she’s clearly an amazingly talented queen, her runway look was one of the best there. But she seems too stuck in her own aesthetic to realise it’s not going to work for all the challenges. She could have easily changed up that H & M dress to make it more Eurovision and with a different wig, maybe she would have stayed.
Yes, money is an issue - but as the Vivienne pointed out, they would have already had all their costumes organised before lockdown so wouldn’t have had to spend any additional money unless they decided to change the costumes. I saw Veronica Green’s insta stories about making her Medusa wig and she said she had to make it for as little as possible so was buying cheap plastic tubes and rubber snakes. The show has become a real juggernaut, but I always saw its aim as showcasing the talent and ingenuity of drag artists - their ability to make something incredible and beautiful out of next to nothing.
If what A’Whora says is true - that Sister Sister copied her costume idea, then that’s super shady. I think it probably is true because the judges were quick to say that it was a great costume but didn’t have the same impact cos A’Whora went there first. I’m astounded Sister Sister has lasted this long, I tend to forget she’s even on the show. And I thought her Goth character was way worse than Veronica’s - Veronica made me laugh with her dry, not bothered characterisation but Sister was just blah.
I started out liking Ginny Lemon but wasn’t keen on how rude she was to Lawrence and I thought her walk off was incredibly petulant. She strikes me as someone with both low self esteem and a very high regard for herself. The lashing out at Rupaul now just comes across as bitter and a little pathetic. She chose to leave because she didn’t want to risk losing, she needs to own that decision and not try to blame anyone else.
I loved Queens on Lockdown and really admire Cherry Valentine. She came across so well - intelligent, empathetic, hard-working and really lovely. I wonder if the queens were told not to vote for her to return - she seems incredibly dedicated to her job and I’m not sure that she would have left it to go back on Drag Race. I liked that she and Asstina were given a reward, it was certainly much needed for Cherry.
I felt so bad for Veronica. She clearly really struggled initially with lockdown, I’m gutted for her that she didn’t make it back to the show. I hope she decides to return next year and smashes it.
I love Tia Kofi and have done since her Alan Turing drag. I loved that she chose a true gay icon and I thought the rainbow binary design on the suit was really well thought out and clever. Such a shame the ice cream dress didn’t work properly - I hope she makes it through to the final, her commentary is great.

I love Lawrence. He has such Scottish humour which I think a lot of people don't get.

I just say, I don't get why Ru comes over for it at all. There are so many nuances and references and even just points of humour of the UK she wouldn't get. Like if someone here went over to do US stuff.

I am here for Ginny throwing some shade on twitter to Ru! Ru gets on my nerves sometimes especially on the UK one. Don’t even think it’s because Ginny was a sore loser like people are saying as she seemed quite happy to be leaving and I bet she was even happier not having to wait 7 months to go back. I think she knew she had gone as far in the competition as she could.

I can see why Ru was pissed off. Yes, it is a competition and a lot is expected of them. I agree the way he styled his look was wrong and I am sure could have done something else to fix it and make it stand out and be more Eurovision. At the same time, he hadn't kept the original clothes and materials he had prepared for the show and had sold most of it them to the covid crisis because he needed to pay his rent and was short of money. As far as he was concerned it was over and he was not going back. He got a call with three weeks notice and he had to gather up the clothes he lost so I feel sorry for him on that one. I can see both sides of it.
