Ellie Diamond when she was criticised for being OTT and "fancy dress" after hearing Michelle say "when you think you've gone too far, go that much further and you're there" in every DR episode/show so far

I cant find any evidence for this now but I was told that the BBC does actually give the queens a (modest) budget per episode

Don’t quote me on this but I believe the contestants do receive a small amount per episode however I think this is to cover lost earnings whilst isolating for the show rather than costuming which is why you’ll get some queens with extravagant made to order outfits and some with more homemade basic looks.

That would explain the reaction. I mean you are going on National TV, so need to bring something that your average person can’t get. I find it unfair they get such good prizes each week in the US... and a badge here🤦🏼‍♀️
Strikes me that AWhora is trying to be bitchy/funny like Bianca Del Rio but it doesn’t deliver in the same way. However her makeup/clothes are very polished, can’t deny that.

My friend's old boss is friends with Alan Carr so got some tea on Ru kicking off (via Graham Norton, lol). Apparently it was a lot worse than what we saw. Ru started shouting at the crew and contestants etc, saying "why the duck did I come all the way back for this", threatened to stop the filming and whatnot. The atmosphere on the set was extremely frosty, Graham thought it was a bit of a joke at first but quickly realised it wasn't and sat there the whole time feeling very uncomfortable when the queens came back out/when Ru apologised. Intense!

Well she can duck off then for the next series and will will just have Drag Race UK next year without Ru. It's not like the show would be worse for it.

I've seen it written many times by people who have worked with/met Ru that he is like that most of the time and will only speak to the queen's when filming and ignores them the rest of the time

!!!! I thought it seemed like the rant had been blue-pencilled, like it was way worse than what we were seeing. I thought Ru came off a bit nuts there to be honest. If some of the queens were struggling to make enough money to have great fits pre-pandemic, of course they would struggle after months of lockdown. I get she wants more from them but 7 months of prep don't outweigh what happened to the entertainment industry in the UK & therefore the queens' budgets

I thought the way the episode was cut was differently, like it panned a lot to Ru looking pissed off. I thought they were being heavy-handed with hinting at who Ru didn't like, but maybe they were just showing Ru as she was - salty, stewing and fuming

Having said that though, he doesn't need to be mates with them. I doubt on the Apprentice that Alan Sugar goes out on the piss with the candidates.

I don’t think Paul would touch the show with ten foot barge pole tbh. He’s been quite vocal in the past. Young mouthy cocky queens would 1000% get put in their place more than with Ru. I also think “lily” is pretty much retired. I think he’s fairly happy with staying out of the limelight and sticking with stuff like the Dog show he does.

But I do believe another host someone who’s British would be far better at helm full time(Ru could still make an appearance). As an earlier poster said about not liking Ru or Michelle I’ve gone off them and I truly believe that the show’s popularity has gone to their heads. I get mean girl vibes from them and not in a nice way.

So did I! I rewatched it and yeah Ru seemed really wound up, and it looked genuine. I saw Ginny's comments on twitter too which now makes sense as they probably knew what really went down.

I feel like Ru is a bit out of touch. The nightlife industry here has been destroyed and all of the queens have missed out on months of income. You don't need money to do drag, no, but to compete on DR you do.

Wow. I wondered what the H & M thing was about, I thought perhaps it was theatrics for television, but ..wow! Especially after a pandemic, what did she expect? I feel sorry for the queens who are on the show during a pandemic because it really is affecting their ability to go and make money after the show, for example season 12. And now, again.

Also, I wonder if there was more to what happened with Ginny than they showed?
