I'm a little annoyed at the thought of suffering mentally in a lockdown for the sake of Christmas mainly because I'll be on my own anyway as I'm sure others will be but also because as others have mentioned other religions didnt get a break for their 'holidays' this current lockdown is frustrating enough. I just want it to all end and for us all to get some normality back.

While further restrictions are being put forward tomorrow for NI our local theatre has just announced it’s to open next week. The health minister said today all of the 4 nations were working on a plan together for over the Christmas period..I’m wondering are we being treated to a pantomime besides the Gov one 😂View attachment 315944 q
I wonder which role Sammy W could play. 🤭

It might sound selfish but right now it’s how I feel. I’m so sick of it. In and out of lockdowns all the time potentially extending this then another after Christmas. I feel so angry. It’s almost to the point where I don’t care anymore I just want to get on with life and hope I don’t catch it. Sorry if it offends anyone and it’s most likely my 2am sleep deprived thoughts.

Probably missed this way back in the thread, but just reading about south Australia’s lockdown. Crikey. Two cases and they close everything and everyone. They don’t muck about do they?
Yes, they've acted so quick haven't they? As a Victorian who did the long 111 day lockdown I am rather glad they're taking it seriously. Would not be pleased if we had to do it all again if it spread across state borders 😅

It's quite normal to be angry. I think it would be weirder not to be. Take care of yourself ❤

feels like a lifetime away

I remember this match being on TV and saying to my OH how envious I felt, but at the same time I felt very happy to see people enjoying themselves again after all we've been through. I feel that our time will come - eventually.

Given the recent outbreak adelaide this seems like a scary risk to take.

So quick. I wonder how long this will be sustainable for.

Christmas is a huge money making (food, drink, travel, presents, decorations etc) event compared to other religious festivals. That will be the main reason along with the hope of they let people mingle over Christmas we will comply with more restrictions in the new year.

At this rate I see 2021 as a repeat of this year with full lockdown come February.

The match was a couple of weeks ago in Brisbane, whereas the outbreak (all two of them) is down in Adelaide and just happened. 1,263 miles apart.

I just don't think the economy could cope with another full lockdown. There would be further businesses folding, more unemployment, not to mention what could happen to the MH of everyone.

After saying that, I really do wonder what is being planned, especially with all of the new Covid officials being employed to walk the streets.

if they lift restrictions over Christmas then it’s goes against every bit of of BS they’ve fed to us this whole year. It can’t be that bad can it if for 5 days over Christmas we can do what we want?
it discredits everything they’ve said so far and I’m fairly confident in saying not many people will follow the guidelines thereafter.
Lockdowns don’t work, restrictions are having devastating impacts on mental health, businesses and relationships with family.
I lost my grandad this year to (kidney problems- not ‘covid’) and I’m so bitter and angry at the fact during his last year I wasn’t able to spend any time with him.
Masks aren’t working, lockdowns aren’t working, let’s just get on with our lives and live!! We’re all gonna die anyway!!!!
So so so done with this now.

I would be really interested to know how many people who have tested positive have been really ill? If you didn't know about Corona would you just think you had a normal cough, cold etc? Aside from the elderly, who are often more affected by any illness, how many people have been really ill?

Basically, I'm struggling with the fact that the vast majority of people I hear off who have tested positive haven't been overly unwell? It makes me feel like these measures are so extreme and damaging. I think we should be able to make our own risk assessment regarding this virus. Like we do with so many other things in our lives.
