Tattlers I need your help please!

I had to collect my son from school as there’s a positive case in his bubble. He normally sees his dad twice a week and his dad thinks he can still see our son?! I say he can’t as he has to self isolate? I’ve sent him this attachment. Please can you help confirm who is right so I know what to do? Thank you x

I think part of the problem is because we have more or less watched Covid unfold, we are stuck in the narrative of it being a respiratory disease that causes symptoms similar to cold or flu, and have compared it to other flu epidemics in behaviour. If you don’t have one of the three key symptoms, you’re home free.

I think there is some global gathering evidence that it is more of a systemic disease that affects many functions. This is why it worries me when they say kids are asymptomatic and unaffected. We actually don’t know for sure.

My colleague had the mildest of colds initially (5 weeks ago) but still suffers from hallucinations, brain fog/memory loss, a weakened right side and persistent migraines. Almost like it’s mimicking the affects of a stroke. She is mid 30s and has run marathons in the last few years, likes to look after herself - that’s the scary thing.

Yeah your son has to self isolate for 14 days. Literally means don’t see anyone outside of his household bubble or go out.

He has to stay at home as far as I'm aware. My niece had this with her kids and she never sent them to their dads as you can't leave the house when self isolating

Bastards. This pandemic is our karma.
I hate this world

Hi all. just been informed by my work place (big global fashion company) we are expected to return on Saturday this week? W T F
I also live in a town where it’s almost 600 cases per 100,000

"A merry Christmas could mean you bury your family in January"? Wow what is it with these scientists and their extreme doom and gloom

The media just LOVE a doom and gloom headline and I hate it! Yes there might be some truth it but fgs theres no need for the scary headlines.
They seem to thrive on bad news. I'm sure it was the media that scared so many of us so much in the first place.

I don't know if anyone remembers my little tale about X the school staff member who went in with symptoms. Well X has tested positive.
PHE don't see there is any need for anyone else to isolate (symptoms started on Saturday) they were in a year group bubble with 60 kids.
I can't help but think that it's totally irresponsible behaviour for them to keep the bubble open.
I guess it's now a matter of time before more cases in the school start to spring up.

A big worry for the government is no doubt that if they let everyone get it, what effects it will have the health of people when they get older. They can’t afford a band of current 20, 30 and 40 year olds not able to work when they’re in their 40s and 50s.
I don't think any government cares about the long term affects, just the next few years while they are in power.

Otherwise they would worry about all the gyms shut and people inactive at home. But don't worry Tesco is saying treat yourself to whatever  . The lockdown is going to be hugely detrimental to public health and people that were more at risk of lighting striking them than covid.

I completely agree @Yel and also if they care about whether current 20,30 and 40 year olds would be able to work in their 40s and 50s then one would like to think they might have put a bit more effort into protecting the economy and the jobs people have at the moment. From where I'm standing I think this is wayyy down their list of priorities if it even features at all!

Nope, self isolating means not leaving the house for 2 weeks. His dad will just need to not see him, as hard as it is if he did start with symptoms that effects dad and dad's contacts.
