Boris Johnson is in hospital, fighting for breath. A civil servant gives him a bedside briefing.

'Boris, once we come out of lockdown, there are two long-term policy alternatives: (a) increase NHS resources,, social care and policies to mitigate poverty, or (b) increase free-market policies, using increasingly draconian police powers to stave off resulting social unrest from those caught at the sharp end of this.'

'Ah...Ah....Ahhh!'

'Very well: 'a' it is.'

was wondering if anyone knows the definition of "nhs front line staff" in regards to anti-gen testing?! I'm thinking just nurses/drs etc.

But, the reason i ask is because my mum is currently in self isolation with all the corona virus symptoms starting last weekend (she says its hell)! She's actually a receptionist in A&E. I'm googling trying to find out if she'd be eligible to be tested as she's also a carer for vulnerable family members so at the moment its a hard juggle between me being a "vulnerable" person, trying to get food for them, my mum and ourselves as theirs no delivery slots at all anywhere! This test could obviously clear her to go back to work, help our elders out when better etc. just ahhhh so stressed and looking for some positivity lol

So are anyone else neighbour's letting their kids play on the frount. Mixing families 😶
2x nhs workers and 2 teachers as parents.
I'm the one looking like a twit telling my 6 year old they cant play with them.

Edit: it's a massive grass area on a pretty secluded street. Not seen one police car in our area. Also dont like my little one being on the front anyway, all the houses have got massive gardens so totally unnecessary.

Not seen any in our street but my neighbours have had their grandkids over.
I think the next street over will be jam packed of kids and parties though.

Plenty of that will happen unfortunately
I heard this afternoon that the company behind the Christmas Ice Rinks here in Ireland are setting them up as temporary morgues for a large sum of money.
A women by me in Morrison’s was wearing gloves and then wiped her running nose right up her wrist and arm. Her husband was with her despite the supermarket telling us to have one per household

🤬

A woman on the Tesco’s checkout serving did that too!

I picked up my stuff and went to another checkout.

Yes you are wearing gloves but you are touching my food!!!!

Fuming

I just dont get people! My mums house bound after an accident. Shes in good health and in her early 50s. I wouldnt dream of taking my kids over even if we was just sitting in the garden. Its absolutely killing her not seeing them.

My kids can go in the back or side garden only and only together. No friends are allowed over. They've accepted that and are just doing what needs to be done

This is what I've been doing. But my daughter thinks I'm a massive twit (my words not hers) for not letting her play with her mates.
Shes been on our back for the last three says. Weathers been lush and weve got a good set up regarding toys, trampolines, play houses...

Yes my son is 7 and misses his friends also ...it is strange for them as they don't really understand much of whats going on ...and you don' want to scare them with the truth..I know people don't like kids screaming playing etc but I don't mind it ,proves we're still alive ..and we might be glad of the sounds of the children in the future to drown out the silence x..

The sound of kids doesn't bother me at all.

The sound of lawnmowers however...

It's never ending here.

A man in the queue a few people behind me waiting to go into the local shop spat on the floor. Gross.
The shop were allowing a total of three people in the shop at any one time, then a one out one in rule. Same twit then said, can’t believe I’m having to queue to get in a local shop.
No tit Sherlock and whilst you are in there getting your supplies, treat yourself to a paper and read it.

Suddenly our under funded and under resourced police forces feel that their time is now best spent harassing the public with drones and on bikes whilst people are taking their “government approved” exercise, journeys to get food or medicine whilst keeping distance. WTAF? Go solve some actual crime you f*cktards.

And addicts don’t chose to be addicts. They are not enjoying being on drugs they are seeking escape from other pain. Often the addiction is the result of a trauma that has caused them mental health problems that they haven’t been able to overcome and need to escape and numb their reality. They need compassion and assistance not some knob on a BMX in hi vis screaming at him - terrifying.
That's objectionable, my husband works for the police in a civilian role. Every day he and his police officer colleagues work their backsides off trying to keep law and order going so that everyone else (including you!) can live in a safer environment. Every day they are faced with dealing with situations that may result in personal injury or worse - remember PC Andrew Harper?? He was in the same force as my hysband and therefore a colleague, albeit indirectly. Please stop and think before you call our police officers "f*cktards".

This is what's happening where I live. People going up on the moors have barbecues. Never been so angry.
