I never come on here anymore but just wanted to say I FINALLY caught covid 2 years in 😂 I test myself twice a week still for work and tested negative last Monday and then I woke up on Thursday with a bit of a sore throat so decided to do a LFT and there was a very faint positive….then I did another one later that day and it was strong positive! I felt fine mostly, I would have gone to work etc if I was allowed. Bit of swollen glands and a blocked nose for 3/4 days. Had my first negative test yesterday (day 7) and another today so I am released into the wild - for context I’m in wales so we still isolate. Overall 5/10 I quite liked the time off but I was a bit bored and spent too much on deliveroo.

So jealous of your negative tests! I’m day 8 and still waiting on one! My positive line this morning was so faint it’s literally only visible if you look closely. I’ve just done another and keeping my fingers crossed. I’m in Scotland so also still isolating.
Glad you are feeling better and have been released back in to the wild ☺️

I was putting covid to the back of my mind and feeling okay about it, now suddenly I’ve started seeing a couple of positive lateral flows being posted online and I’m freaking out again

I had a group therapy session on Thursday, no one out of the 7 of us in the room wore masks so I took mine off as well, I’m just wondering if I’ll ever feel 100% comfortable in life again

Out of interest for those in England with Covid (or have had covid since rules changed) - are you still totally isolating?

I tested positive on Tuesday, going for my first walk today and leaving the house properly tomorrow as I need to do the food shop.. I can’t afford to shop anywhere other than aldi so home delivery out of the question. Will wear a mask and social distance as much as I can, but I have to feed us.

I tested positive last Friday, stayed in for the first couple of days then went out for some short dog walks, but I went at quieter times and made sure I kept a good distance from anyone. I did have to drop my car off for an MOT as well so just masked up whilst I ran in with the keys.

I've been negative since Tuesday anyway, so following the old government rules I would have left isolation on Wednesday but I did feel rough so didn't feel like going anywhere.

Not being legally forced to stay at home now has its advantages for dog owners. Mine was going crackers when we had covid and were all at home but nobody was walking her.

Tested positive last Friday. Today is day 9 and there’s STILL a faint line on my tests. It’s so faint you really have to squint to see it but it’s definitely there. Did one this morning but can’t be bothered doing any more so just resigned myself to being stuck in until Monday. So fed up!

It feels like covid never existed , due to the war elsewhere, no news about it, but it's still going on, only main hospital down here has stopped visitors cos theres been an influx of covid patients :(

It is still in the news but not as much because of the situation in Ukraine. I’ve seen more reports in the last week or so because of cases increasing across UK and Scotland seeing quite a high number of hospitalisations. 😕

Ii had covid on January. I was exposed to it a week ago (at a friend's house - i was there for 3hrs - they tested pos the day after). I feel shocking today. headache, fatigue, sore throat, body aches.... I've tested negative on 3 LFTs... I have the exact same symptoms as I did with covid the first time around... bizarre. I'd expect with omicron I'd test pos after 7days

Don't really post here anymore.
Covid is awfully locally one if the local senior schools said its worst every especially amongst staff so maybe its boosters waning.
Also a new varient theres omicron ba1 and now omicron BA2.
Unfortunately ba2 seems be infecting people who had ba1 within 8 weeks.

Last Sunday a parent got in touch via fb to tell me unfortunately her child had covid same class as mine.
A few people that class were off sick.
So I tested my son who wasent sick and he's postive faint line last Sunday.
By Monday it was strong line.
Hes been pretty good keeping to his room and by fri he was negative.
Fortunately he wasent poorly but his class mates not so lucky.
By Tuesday was at least 10 postives.

Toddlers been sick missed 1 day off nursery but lft all neg.
Rest of house is testing daily.

But disaster Friday evening when the 16 year old tests postive well postive I 1 lft neg on 2nd one.
So booked a pcr nearest to my house which weirdly had 420 appointments that day and was empty so I assume hardly anyone pcr testing anymore.
Tried to get some lft from chemist yesterday they had none we really getting thorough them daily testing a family of 6..

Today its come through as postive so she misses gcse mocks next week in so annoyed.
1 of her teachers has it and us in hospital as heavily pregnant.
Her tutors been off for over a week.
She wears a mask in school although head teacher discourages them.
Least 3 to 4 people each class missing.
No idea of caught from home or school.

But really hoping me, husband and remaining 2 children don't get it.

Spent so long being so careful.

What I don't get is if gps say always pcr for symptoms why remove pcr in April.
Feels never ending and husband getting it would mean lost Income.

Might do a deep clean again today of bathroom kitchen. Door handles, bedding open all the windows

Testing positive in our group after 8 weeks again I’ve avoided it and the husband but I have every symptom I had nearly in January. I genuinely think I had Delta as I was absolutely floored with the chest and everything else when I got it. . Did not get the sore throat fatigue etc like I was told to look out for. Now I have the sore throat and fatigue and dry cough but testing negative since I was exposed by my brother in law again since Wednesday. I do 2 tests a day and not one positive but the bil is still getting a feint line. So I’m just isolating. We were only around him for minutes but I deffo have an upper respiratory infection right now so be careful cos immunity is a myth I genuinely think at this stage.

A lot of the main news bulletins on the TV have stopped talking about covid due to Ukraine, but it hasn't stopped in other forms of media - e.g. newspapers, websites, etc.

At least I've been reading quite a bit about covid cases being on the rise over the last few days/weeks. It's not really surprising given the removal of restrictions in England. I think the general feeling is that it's nothing to worry about for the time being anyway.

I stupidly thought it was going away. 7 year old was extremely poorly and showing negative tests, we were sent to a and e and told to watch for sepsis and meningitis as his temp was 42 and he had a migraine for 2 days with no let up he couldn’t open his eyes or lift head. He then tested positive on the 4th day of being poorly when he was getting better. The hospital never once mentioned covid like it was never even a thing. Or that the tests could be wrong. Me and his dad now have it and I’ve never felt so ill in my life. High fever, chills, shortness of breath, he ache from hell, body feels like I’ve been beaten up. Can’t stand for long. I feel so stupid I stopped being so cautious.
