Coronation Street #18

It's all very odd and I think you notice it in the filming. Characters just disappear for ages. Daisy has disappeared as well.

We've got this situation were we are introduced to new characters, Kit, Joel, Lauren, DS Swain, Betsy etc etc and they're carrying the show and regulars are disappearing. I don't like it and I really don't care enough about the new characters to be invested in their storylines.

I was the same and wasn't going to watch but it was better than expected , I don't like really long heart to hearts on soaps so I'm glad the episode was broken up a little bit.

I do understand Billy's reaction, knowing you're assisting with someone's suicide must be unimaginable especially as a Priest , his initial reaction was selfish but I don't think there's anything wrong with that you're going to feel that way at first it will have been a shock as he clearly didn't see it coming that day. As he said he just wanted to be 100% Paul was certain on this before going ahead as he would hate to think there was a doubt when it was too late and have to live with "what if"

Without getting too into the deep and meaningful, this is where we really need to consider this whole thing properly in this country. I am in favour of people choosing to end their own life but could I actually do it for a loved one? I’m sure I could take them to a clinic and they could be assessed and I’d respect their choice but I honestly don’t think I could do what Paul is asking Billy to do so I really empathised with that bit and didn’t really think it was selfish

He was asking him to hold on longer though, not to not do it at all. He already agreed to do it, my feeling is that it should be when Paul wants. I’m sure it would be super hard, but I think if you make someone a promise that important you stick to it. Wouldn’t Todd have done it? I’m hazy on if he asked him earlier etc

Yeah he asked Todd first and he agreed. Then it came about that Billy found out and he agreed to do it.
I thought it was going to be Todd at the doorbell (when it was Chesney) as think Todd realised that was going to be the night.
Wonder when it’ll be now, must be imminent

Yes I know and I know they’d agreed it before etc - I just meant I can imagine panicking like Billy did when the time came!
