Caroline Hirons #37 The Devil Wears Camo

Did anyone listen to the Emma Gunns recent podcast where she was trying to say trinny was successful because of her ‘prividlge’ whereas ma hirons qas self made and was as big as trinny? Or words to that effect. I nearly fell off my chair ..

Sorry just realised, I need to wear my glasses when writing comments. Hopefully you could understand what ‘meant’ to say.
It was in the most recent bulletin point podcast think it was called something about podcasts- maybe even to do with the Diary of a CEO Steven Bartlett pod..

I don’t know what Ma Hiron’s has on her but she is always always!!! Pushing her rubbish skinrocks produce. 🤨😳🫠

Which episode was that?! Who was the guest?

She said that Trinny had claimed to fund her line by selling her clothes, that when Emma sold her clothes on Vinted she made just over £1,000 a year and that’s not going to fund a brand. So Trinny had to have been rich already, because her clothes were worth more. Then said that if Caroline had sold her clothes it wouldn’t make that much. Because she’s ’someone from the shop floor, a grafter’. It was a bit of a tortured analogy about big podcasters, I don’t think it made the point she thought it was making, tbh it made me think ‘did you just say your mate Caroline Hirons has tit clothes?!’. It’s from around 42 mins into her ‘when good podcasts go bad’ episode

It sound like she was just the mouthpiece or the puppet and someone else was pulling her strings…

Hirons is not as big as Trinny, she just THINKS she is!
Trinny and Lisa were well established brands before they had counters at Liberty.
Hirons wasn’t established at all and ran before she could walk by having a Liberty counter.
She is so envious of Trinny.

I don’t understand why, out of all the influencers with beauty/skincare brands, she’s fixated on Trinny and developed such palpable jealousy and competition towards her, when CH is always going to come up short. It just makes her look petty and foolish. Surely it’s not all prompted by the stupid issue of the brand colour palette?

She's always like that with CH and Sali Hughes, surprised she has not got her own thread.
Wonder if Emma knows about the Mansion, surely she does. That takes money to buy.

This is part of the transcript….as IF Oaf has bigger success than Trinny 🤣 Emma has always come across as a complete sycophant to Oaf, Sali and Nadine like she’s desperate for their attention.

Of course Trinny was rich anyway. They are acting like they are disclosing some great secret to the public. Her father was a banker. Her granddad pretty much owned the British steel industry and she went to a variety of boarding schools. Her business was also part funded by Charles Saatchi. Hirons can only dream of that kind of background.

While we are talking of secrets, how's Ruth's old house?

ETA is Emma seriously comparing her wardrobe to Trinny's? Trinny who has been a figure in British fashion for decades and had the most expensive designer clothes thrown at her. She doesn't just wear Zara ffs!

I think Gunns needs to shut her gums and open her ears. When I listened to Trinny she said she sold her old house (that’s why she rents now) and her clothes to help finance Trinny London. she didn’t sell her clothes on Vinted either. She sold a lot of her stuff on the higher end second hand clothes platforms. And any shrewd person would do that. And Gunns only made £1200 for her stuff then that’s up to her as others make much more than that.

and to think that Hirons is more successful than Trinny, she’s deluded. Trinny isn’t tagging just about anybody on her clothes posts, doing paid ad’s for anyone that would have her. God she’d be promoting cleaning products with Stacey and hinch if they paid her.

I don't think a purely skincare range will ever be as successful as a skincare/cosmetics brand. Not in the bracket Oaf, Trinny, Lisa Eldridge or even Victoria Beckham, are.
Cosmetics are the 'sexy' side of it - the things that will draw customers to linger at a counter, and the things that will be purchased as gifts or a treat for yourself.
I can't see many buying SkinRocks as a Christmas present on a whim. It isn't prestigious or attractive enough but is stupidly expensive for what it is.
