Hmmm not sure why you’ve asked that?! I said I’ve only ever worked and not claimed benefits so I can only talk about what I know about where my tax supposedly goes. Hope you’re ok doll x
Ah, a Tory voter.

hilariousYes to a degree, but my point is in relation to BBC broadcasters who are expected to exemplify impartial and strong moral compass.
Info from a friend in the industry:
Porn is made with the adult consent of all involved. Children cannot give such consent and making images of children is a criminal act. CP is a sub-genre where adults who appear to be underage play child roles.
IIOC is a category of illegal images completely separate to the porn industry and includes all children under 18.
Absolutely. He has compromised himself and his employer. Neither would have wanted this to go public, but these parents went public and forced the BBC’s hand.on A very practical level… imagine there’s another similar scandal. Maybe a politician is exposed for doing something similar.
how could Huw feasibly report on it with a straight face? The hypocrisy would be deeply uncomfortable to watch. It would undermine any credibly the BBC had when reporting on the issue. How would he be able to hold this individual to account or interview them, if he’d done something similar?
it’s like when Beth Rigby was found to have partied during lockdown. I thought she should’ve lost her job for that. Because what happened? When she was quizzing Matt Hancock about lockdown parties he made a sly dig back at her and she shut up.
journalists and broadcasters hold the political and elite classes to account. Robust journalism is a cornerstone of democracy. That’s why there needs to be a degree of integrity in the profession. That’s why it’s in the public interest that Huw was exposed. That’s why he should be held to a higher standard than your average Joe.
Huw can’t do his job properly, if his personal conduct undermines him, in a nutshell.
I'm not sure why he was thought of as The Nation's Therapist just because he announced that an old lady died
Booooring - off to a more lighthearted lil thread now - see ya wouldn’t want to be ya !!!Ah, a Tory voter.
It hasn't if it ever was been call child pornography in the law inforcment circles foor a couple of decades at least. To the general public anything showng erotic imagery is pornography, which is legal. Using that just isn't right when it is abuse of children.
Which media outlet should she have gone to then? Assuming the Sun was the first publication she went to, as perhaps no one else wanted to touch it with a barge pole.
Desperate measures for desperate people.
I’d rather be called a slag than that so that hurt. I’m from north liverpool so I’m labour babe. Haven’t come here to argue, just wanted to put my own opinion across like you did with yours.Ah, a Tory voter.
I don't think the lawyers can advise this. It would be the PR people... or you know, his mental health has actually deterioratedThe Lawers have played a blinder here, turned the alleged perpetrator in to the victim! Absolute priceless! The same thing that has defended all the other Wrong Uns!
A mental episode??? Yeah due to being caught out.
It may well just be a difference in law between Irish/UK law so, I know child pornography crime is most certainly a thing here (ireland) and someone in receipt of a 17 YOs intimate images would be considered to be in possession of CP, similarly as would a 17YO who received the same images from their 17YO boyfriend/girlfriend
Legally it isn't. I worked for a number of years for a police force carrying out forensic examinations of computer equipment, phones and digital media. If it wasn't for the fact it would identify me I could link to news repoorts of cases I examined. Not once was it ever referred to as child pornography, it was allways Indecent imagess of children (IIOC) or indecent images depicting the sexual abuse of children. There's been plenty of discussions somewhat recently about changing the terminology and it seems that a slow shift has started to take place:
Why language matters: why we should never use ‘child pornography’ and always say child sexual abuse material | NSPCC Learning
This blog post looks at the significant impact of using the term 'child sexual abuse material' instead of ‘child pornography’ which diminishes the seriousness of the crime. It is aimed at anyone working in the wider child protection sphere (in any capacity), anyone whose work involves children...learning.nspcc.org.ukhttps://www.12ft.io/https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2011/jun/06/open-door-term-child-porn
Legally it still appears to be called child pornography but the impression I got from the conversation is that it was relating to the whole "teen" category
You’re absolutely right. Sorry. It was the post above this one. My thumbs aren’t that chubby. Corrected that post now. Thank you!

Well, I'm caught up. Bit sad how this threads gone. Assume everyone's a little grouchy from the lack of sleep trying to keep up with it all. Shall we all agree to go to bed, get a good night's kip and bring some banter with us when we log in tomorrow, along with a lovely big smile!
Come on, that poster has a point. Huw managed to do all that whilst engaging in a seedier side of life too. Maybe it was his way of release but he held it together until it all came out.Tell me you don't understand mental health issues without telling me you don't understand mental health issues...
