There's something called "jigsaw identification" which is basically when you don't name someone but drop enough clues to identify them. It can still be judged as defamation (if untrue).

As a mental health professional, can I ask if you think that she is the sort of person to take anyone's advice that doesn't fit her narrative?

I cannot see someone like her accepting a diagnosis of a mental health condition or any sort of disorder, never mind agreeing the therapies or medications.

I'm also relieved that you agree some people are just not great, makes me feel better about my post about my own relatives.

Are you UK based? Simply to know procedure there, could someone have stopped her essentially?
I thought Peirs was gona be much worse than he was to be honest I thought was gona start with him but it kinda didn't he was probably warned by every human involved not ta act the fk, but public were always going to respond and I don't know where I sit on it again, I'm very much confused by this lady, if that lad is not her nephew he's going ta great lengths with emails from the sun and all, i said earlier boy there gona be some media circus tomorrow 🫣. I hope for a lot of people her included she does have some sort support but I don't know/believe she has personally or medically, because surely it wouldn't have happened.
But it most def happened on YouTube because no station was willing to risk, it could well bring down a whole station if something goes wrong here.
It's a lot isn't it. 🙈

It’s a part of many mental illnesses- the individual doesn’t see their behaviour/symptoms as being the problem. For example - someone with schizoaffective disorder - characterised by abnormal thinking processes and an unstable mood may not recognise they are unwell and it’s only if the become a risk to harming themselves or others that they can be treated.
Personality disorders aren’t traditionally treated with medication so treatment is therapy which relies on the individual buying into that treatment option - treatment can fail many times over; reinforcing the negative thinking processes that the individual is getting treatment for in the first place.

Heaven forbid she is called out for her behaviour which was quite frankly disgusting. If it had been a man we would be calling for his head but because she's a woman we are to sympathise with her? She is deranged and whilst I understand it is not nice for her to be receiving hate / threats etc, I can't feel sorry for someone who went to such lengths to make someone else's life a misery. I don't think many will agree with me but just my opinion.

Yes, UK based. I think it’s very telling that it was on YouTube - other media outlets would’ve perhaps shown more of a duty of care. However, I guess they will say she is a grown adult who has the capacity to make her own decisions so that’s why they have let her be interviewed.

Unsure if this has already been mentioned. In Scotland you can leave university after 3 years with a pass degree - BA / BSc. There’s no classification.

4th year is your honours year.

So she was getting antsy because piers didn’t understand but she could easily have explained those
 
I am starting to think it’s all one big social experiment- I still can’t quite believe what I have watched tonight. As Piers said - you are either innocent or a really good liar.
I also imagine Netflix have done their due diligence- surely they have saw some evidence to prove the true story is true! However through all of this - Gadd has never stated it’s FH, nor has anyone involved 🤷🏽‍♀️ I am deep in a rabbit hole now - desperately need to drag myself out of it or work will be difficult tomorrow 😳
 
I’m interested in what happens next now. RG hasn’t addressed anything to do with Fiona since she was found, but surely something will be said now

I also wonder if her claims will now be fact checked, because everything she claims to be categorically false can easily be proved otherwise

Also it really makes me laugh how accurate her character is. RG really just changed her first name from Fiona to Martha, and then from Harvey to another boy’s name Scott 😂

I’ve just finished binge watching this, it was very sad and very brave. I was very moved by his relationship with his parents and that closer bond he got with his father when he understood his father was abused.

I do think Gadd is trying to expose his groomer without being completely responsible if that makes sense. I say this as someone who was groomed and raped, it’s such a complicated relationship you have with your abuser, it’s very hard to articulate, but the hate isn’t as you’d expect, there’s not that burning desire for revenge, because it’s all clouded by other feelings. How I feel disgusted by Gadds rapist, I don’t feel that towards mine, I’m sure the sentiment is the same among many survivors.

And just an FYI, I was left with EUPD, and I am absolutely not deranged, or a stalker 😂

Also have EUPD/BPD, and also not a stalker 😅 I wish people would stop trying to diagnose her with a personality disorder. BPD is already so stigmatised as it is
