I’m not a fan of diagnosing people by watching them on television, and I strongly disagree with the autism suggestion. I’m a parent of a teenager with autism and I work in schools doing interventions for young people with autism and other neurodivergence. I realise that the person who first mentioned ASD said they work with adults with autism and asbergers, but clinicians don’t tend to use asbergers as a diagnosis any more.

I have nothing more to add re: FH or BR but I would plead with everyone to take care when discussing neurodivergent issues; challenging stereotypes are a huge part of our daily work. TIA ❤

Your child is so lucky to have you and what an amazing gift you are to the lives of the kids you help support and validate in schools 🥹💖

Also want to clarify my comment about personality disorders was not to generalise or stereotype anyone. Personality disorders don't make people inherently bad and I'm not implying anything of the sort. Just speculating on some contributing factors behind the behaviour .

I didn’t take your comment as a diagnosis, more of a general reflection on how FH came across *if* she has any form of neurological disorder, divergence, etc. I’m sorry if I have the impression of judgement, hopefully you understand my intention ❤️

I personally think FH should be assessed by a clinician as early as possible, and receive some form of support, but I couldn’t say at this moment exactly how that would work out.

Wow looks like the supposed nephew went to jail for treating people like tit as well. Couldnt make this up

That’s very kind, thank you. I think the world would be a better place if we’d all had a little more care and support growing up, but none more so than every child who’s ever been “labelled” before they’ve even finished primary school! Maybe we wouldn’t have shows depicting events like BR 🫣

No not at all your comment just made me want to elaborate on mine as I know how harmful misconceptions can be.
One of my autistic children is social and can be outgoing in some situations and its caused no end of people not understanding them as they only have one narrow view of autism ❤️

Got it on now. Absolutely cringing at the bit where Piers tries to get her to say what grade she got in her degree. I think she is what you call an "unreliable narrator".

I think she's shot herself in the foot here. If I was Gadd, I would be itching to release the emails and voice calls now.

That's why I shared about two family members who were just bad people...

I thinks it's inherently human to want to seek the reason, the why? (or "the how?" if you're Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😜).

Yes, discovering someone may have a mental illness or have been through some trauma can help us to be more understanding, give them some grace where applicable. It's great to know there is a reason.

It's also not very satisfying for the reason to be non-existant it just is. Some things just are, no rhyme or reason and that's that 🤷.

People are also be multifaceted so there's no need for us to try and define them with solely one aspect of a neurodivergent condition based off of a fecking Piers Morgan interview. bleeping hell, he could help resolve NHS assesment waiting lists if it were that simple 🤣

Who knows , anyway she's not well that's plain to see. Autistic people can also be twats and manipulative. It's kind of infantilising to assume all autistic people are pure and childlike. (diagnosed as Autistic and I've done some twatty things in my life)

Not watched the interview yet but interested to see how she comes across. I’ve read a few articles that say she grew up in Aberdeenshire and others that say she grew up in Stirling so interested to know which it is.

I’m from one of those and thought she barely sounded Scottish.
She also thought the actress playing Martha had a Glaswegian accent, didn’t pick up on that either!

Why is he saying soon though if you can mess about replying to people about her being your auntie you can post the video no? Not saying they are necessarily telling lies about being related they could be for all I know but if you're going to mention it then post it don't just hint it for the drama
They are sizing up the reaction to see can they actually handle it

Okay, fair point but how about not attributing solely negative traits to autism? I believe autistic people are also capable of good, bad and everything in between, because we are human.

I don't like the association of a delusional person like FH being automatically slotted into the autistic box when there are so many other boxes she could be in.

There are 4 people living in my house, all of them diagnosed with ASD. All of them are completely different in personality, but they are all over empathetic, Such a myth, that I am very glad to debunk.

I have two diagnosed aspies in my house, another one who has just been referred for an assessment and a fourth who spends every weekend here. Like your loved ones, all of mine are incredibly empathic.

My son can't bare the thought of anybody being upset and cries floods of tears if any of his siblings are being (reasonably) told off. If he thinks he has upset somebody it breaks his little heart and he tells me through sobs "mummy, my heart is bleeding"

He might not be great at understanding other people all of the time, but he certainly cares about them 🙂

Edited to add - the word 'aspie' is said with affection, it's a term we all use although I know that aspergers itself is no longer diagnosed.

I really don’t think that’s her nephew. The people on his post who seem to know him think he’s piss taking

I grew up without having the "labels", so gained all the other playground labels you can imagine.

Getting my diagnosis later in life explained everything and means I can hopefully be there for my own kids in all the ways the could need.

Thank you for advocating for those misunderstood little kids who will grow up to be people and for your own loved one at home. They will always think of you fondly in this confusing world 💖

I don’t think I implied that everyone with autism is pure and childlike. I asked people not to make diagnoses based on stereotypes.

There is no “typical person with autism” just as there’s no “typical person.”

That’s kind of my point. Anyone can behave like an hole. My teenager frequently does.
