Did anyone ever watch the Shane Dawson series he did?

Some of the stuff on there was interesting, the American pizza chain what supposedly puts old uneaten pizza slices on a plate and stuff.
I'm from England so I've never been

Has anyone here ever been? Makes you wonder if any restaurants actually do that? Uneaten onion rings on a plate if you order and stuff...

I am listening to the 'You're Wrong About' Podcast which debunks conspiracy theories etc and the Wayfair & Child Trafficking episode is brilliant.

I have to admit I fell into that rabbit hole in the summer 😬😬

In all fairness, I think its incredibly easy to fall down these rabbit holes. It's easy to think it's a certain type of person, which it often is, and I think the more vulnerable they are the easier it is, but at the same time, your everyday person can easily get sucked in. I mean, many of us will binge on TV shows full of mystery and intrigue, where nothing is quite what it seems, so it's not a stretch to find CTs quite fascinating. But then it's how far people take it and the full on crazy crap they are willing to believe.

Not seen that, but I did like a video I saw about all those mattress stores on every block in loads of US towns 😂

Reminds me of the suspicion I always feel when I hear the ice cream van driving down the street at 8pm on a freezing cold, pissing it down Sunday night in the middle of February 😂

I think when all this is over a few of the covid deniers that have gone to extremes (on social media and in person) to get their “message” out there belong in prison cells or they should receive a hefty fine.

Agree. They should be charged for spreading such dangerous misinformation that could literally kill someone.
I just can't wait for it to be over and nobody is microchipped and everything is fine so I can say 'HA YOU WERE WRONG'.

I think there’s a difference between falling down a hole with a particular story (we have all been there) and those who are consistently scaremongering and being aggressively condescending towards anyone who doesn’t share the same views.

Anyone who denies the holocaust is a bleeping disgusting excuse for a human being and should crawl back into the hole they came out of.

Also people thinking Donald Trump is saving the world when in actual fact he's a racist, misogynistic narcissist who is hopefully going to prison soon.
I have mentioned this elsewhere here, but I was about to go on a tinder date some years ago and the guy added me on FB before (luckily, it turns out) anyway he was often posting stupid conspiracy theories (flat earther type things) so already I was reconsidering. He then started posting Holocaust Denial things, which I called him out on, obviously there is no point denying as conspiracy theorists don't listen to logic. There was no first date, obviously, I just found it so shocking as I had never heard anyone in real life (apart from EDL etc members on tv or whatever) express such a view

There's a few things that have already happened this year, Ellen, Oprah Chrissy T, none of them in jail despite wearing those ankle things in the summer. Tom Hanks appeared on Graham Norton despite being dead/ hiding in Greece where p3dos are legal (it's not legal) Hillary hasn't melted due to lack of adrenochrome. Trump, although having 4 years to 'drain the swamp' hasn't done anything to all these supposed child traffickers, 5G hasn't done anything to anyone who has been vaccinated, the rapture didn't suck anyone into the sky, and (disappointingly) Aliens (not even fake hologram ones) have come to put us out of our misery.... no one acknowledges it when things don't happen. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Sorry I'm only on page 2 but I need to butt in here with something that really really did me in when the pandemic began/ when masks were encouraged. People on my Facebook were all like #savethechildren which is great because as people have said, children are suffering around the world, not just from trafficking but malnutrition and stuff like that and it's good to bring awareness about the suffering of others. But oh no, we never cared about #savethechildren until it came to something they didn't want to do. These people probably don't even know what it mean. They were all talking about how you couldn't see their mouths so that means they must be in danger. Now we don't want to #savethechildren because it's not a popular excuse anymore. Now we're all about 'muh freedoms' from people who seem to think the UK is a 'police state' and something about 'martial law' (idk what that is still, no one could explain when I asked) I can only assume these people have never left the country and gone to Spain where police walk around with large guns in the middle of the day

I love this thread. I read a post last week on FB, to support his argument the guy wrote that the word asymptotic did not exist before COVID and stated that people have never been tested before when they are symptom free(for context we now have asympto COVID testing in the town where I live). Based on his argumment you wouldn’t even do a BP test if someone was asympto. I responded telling them about public health testing and campaigns and the page admin took my posts down for being political?! I only mentioned the standard things we get tested for when we are asympto such as smears and also HIV and syphilis for pregnant people, which I think must have triggered their snowflake senses. The conspiracy theory btw was that “they” whoever they are are trying to remove our liberties through testing and if you get tested you’re a sheep and a sap
shocking that a COVID denier would have 0 basic scientific knowledge

not a conspiracy theory, but the ice cream van that went round our halls at uni was well known to sell drugs

Someone on our local community page was going off on one when our LA asked parents to wear masks when collecting children from the school gate (because no one was wearing them and social distancing at the school gate is not a thing obvs). Apparently this put children in danger because they won't be able to recognise their parent if the adult is wearing a mask. It was just mental!

Absolute freaks the lot of them! So glad you had a very lucky escape.

I’m not going to lie, I love reading about conspiracy theories and falling down the rabbit holes and learning more about why people believe them.
I think at this moment in time, people are more susceptible to believing conspiracy theories because of just how bad the world feels right now. For instance with COVID nay sayers, it’s much easier to deny the existence and say it’s the great reset rather than actually accept we’re in a pandemic. But on top of that, we have access to more and more information and the ability to hear about past events through the internet and things like Netflix which makes it much easier to see the bad in the powers that be.
It’s the critical thinking part that just feels completely missing in a lot of the FB posts. Like not only not realising that a vaccine cannot contain a microchip or that if it it did contain some kind of monitoring device Bill probably wouldn’t be interested in your day to day life anyway but then top of that not recognising that they carry a phone around everywhere that does listen to you and is most likely tracking your location from some kind of app/ data usage.

It's all part of the bigger plan! It's all happening behind the scenes.

Well yea actually thinking about it...were mobile phones/smart phones ever part of a conspiracy? They bloody should have been! Was anyone screaming about Facebook and Apple being a facade for monitoring and tracking our every move? Cos that would actually make more sense. I’d be more inclined to believe that than Bill Gates injecting microchips into us 🤷🏻‍♀️

Martial law is the temporary imposition of direct military control of normal civil functions or suspension of civil law by a government, especially in response to a temporary emergency where civil forces are overwhelmed, or in an occupied territory.

So basically they'll bring in the army to deal with civilians, enforce lockdown, that sort of thing. They've been saying that since lockdown 1 and it has yet to happen. Honestly at this point it'd probably be for the best.

Skeptic of the north has a good series on you tube and the creator of the conspiracy pyramid is also starting a series on Q which should be interesting. They explain why a lot of it is based in antisemitism.

Ah my home! I love a good conspiracy theory, but I love the silly ones - Larry Stylinson, the queen is a lizard, Avril Lavigne is Dead and has been replaced, etc etc but all the conspiracy theories about COVID drive me mad! All, oooh we’re going to be tracked, the government want to control us,because yeah the higher ups are really going to want to watch you eat your Rice Krispies at 9am Darren 🙄 My mum’s friend is into the big conspiracy theories, COVID is a hoax, celebrities are using children’s blood to look young(?!), my Mum has anxiety so it sets her off. Makes me want to bang my head against a wall.
