Actually Honest - skincare and makeup reviews #4

I have asked for the Clarins double serum for Christmas. It's spendy but honestly I have been trying all this other stuff in the hopes of finding something as good and I just haven't been able to! I have to bite the bullet

You also get to pick a load of lovely minis when you order it from their website so I get to try out a load of other stuff for free!!

I want to get my sister a beauty advent calendar, budget of €250 or thereabouts. Can anyone recommend one?

I’ve just got the M&S beauty calendar - it’s £50 if you spend £35 on clothes, homeware or beauty. I think it is pretty good value at that price.

I just got one with the voucher and two free mystery boxes (excuse the oneupmanship). I bought a mystery box before and it was great. Well worth the £20 I paid but not feeling the advent calendar this time.

Ooh that’s really good even better, so you still get the £40 off the calendar plus 2 free mystery boxes all for £129.

My mum has been a bit down with health problems recently so I put together a bag with a load of Clarins and Liz Earle samples I had knocking around. I was feeling generous so I gave her one of my samples of Tatcha water cream.

She texted me today to tell me it felt lovely on her hands so I was forced to text her back and tell her to save it for her face!

Anyone tried the Coco & Eve hair range is it any good?
I did for my girls curly hair, first few uses were amazing and then it's like the hair got tacky and knotted. I would not recommend. I find the Aveeno excellent and would be tempted to use it in my own hair it's been that good.

Can anyone recommend a drugstore priced setting spray. I usually use Charlotte Tilbury but am about to go on maternity leave so trying to save money.
I really rate the NYX matte finish finishing spray, bargain at 6 quid, they do other finishes too, dewy etc. proper affordable.

As per the previous poster i do think the L’Oréal one in a red can is great, but it’s very hairspray-esque and gives me flashbacks to the 90s when I would spray my face with silvikrin. Also when I’ve not dermaplaned my face that L’Oréal setting spray makes my face feel prickly with the fine hair on my face. NYX is the winner for me.
