Vlog is on. Her singing the final countdown at mile 25 and happily filming other people who are probably dying on their arse. This has really annoyed me. When it goes wrong, radio silence. We don’t hear from them for days. When she pulls something out of the bag, she uses the eons of spare time she has to do a vlog asap. They are like children, getting their dopamine fix from the “well dones” from followers. They need to grow up and instead of seeking external validation all the fucking time, actually realise how good they have it compared to the millions around the country who are working their arses off just to survive.

No im sure she isn’t - she’s going to pen it as a training run, building bricks on her way to Valencia.
I have no doubt if she attends Valencia (which I’m doubtful of) it’ll be back to over four hours again and the usual shit show.

Also maybe the call with the runnerof4 was a coaching chat and she’s actually got runnerof4 coaching her now? Must have been hard to squeeze in such a long phone call what with her busy schedule and all

It was a pretty short run, hardly worth wasting his £2 sticks for testing his lactate. He obviously isn't up to his usual 30 x 1km repeats. Love that he finished off with 20 minutes in the sauna #heatacclimation he definitely thinks Valencia is still on. Even if he makes it there he doesn't have a hope of matching Bester's sub 2:20.

I managed to watch the first 2 minutes where she keeps saying things like 'work hard in the dark and shine in the light', 'I've been doing the work, banking the miles' etc etc.
WTF, you are an average hobby runner Kels not an elite. You don't get paid to do that, instead you take time away from a family and from a potential ACTUAL job to do your hobby. At some point they need to realise what this actually is, nobody is going to remember a 4-hour marathoner who's spent years and years with awful training.

I haven't watched the vlog but all this 'finally I have my sub-4' thing really gets me, it is as if she felt she was owed a sub-4 as she was definitely capable. Noone is owed any kind of time, just cos you train hard doesn't mean you bank enough credits for a pb!

She’s got a really low HR. Her HR rarely goes over 160, so it seems fair that a pace she can maintain for 4 hours is around the 140bpm mark. Her previous marathons she’s gone out, HR has gone up to mid 150s and she’s faded.

With that said, you’d expect her to be doing her “easy” training runs to be at a much lower HR. £2 test strips say no though.
