So instead of resting it - he does an FTP ramp test on Zwift…
Looks like two zwifts in one day. The tried and tested formula to help a dodgy calf. What a headcase.
---
I think tits has literally nothing else going on in his life, he’s not an involved father, he’s no job, I don’t think really has friends he has literally nothing but running and being good at running is fundamental to his identity, but others are progressing where he is not and he spirals
He barely exists without running.

I tore my calf once (note I said once) and the bike really saved me from a cardio point of view, but had to be really careful with it and kept sessions short. What I did focus on was strengthening my achilles, calf, glutes...you know....the stuff that actually works!

Watch him do a "test" run in a day or two. Does he have a physio do we know, or is he above that? (No I don't mean Kels and her massages, I mean someone who actually knows what they're on about...)

When my Achilles broke (they didn’t actually rupture but were very close- to the point that I couldn’t teach standing up anymore), I couldn’t spin or go on the cross trainer because I tried to get on my toes was too much and that was agony. Eventually I could go slowly on the bike.

Someone at work (who doesn’t run) ruptured their Achilles recently and I have to say I’ve never seen someone look so grumpy all the time hobbling with their raised moonboot.

I absolutely don’t wish that on anyone, but if Tits can’t go a day without 2 bike sessions, I really hope he doesn’t suffer a serious injury. He needs to get help if he is dealing with all of his issues with an exercise addiction.

Scary isn't it!!! I've really struggled scale things back in the past, but when I have an injury that stops me running, I stop and I look at whatever I can do in order to get it better. I don't leap straight in to "completing the session". Will also add, I only ever went on the bike out of the saddle to stop me using my forefoot and focused on using my glutes... wonder if he might figure that out... they are both so thick. Or unwell. Not sure which!

He thinks he’s more skilled than any qualified professional.

He's doing his usual disappearing act on social media, other than sharing coaching tags. He seems incapable of being open about being injured, surely it would be relatable if he shared his recovery? Mind you, his recovery seems to be caning it on zwift and then returning to "sessions" 🤢 far too soon and just repeating the process.

Maybe he realises how dodgy it looks when a “coach” is repeatedly injured …. although that would require a level of self-awareness, so probably not. He’ll just be sulking like the big baby he is.

He’ll definitely be throwing a tantrum and making everything about him, although there’s nothing unusual about the latter. Seven weeks to go until the big day; time’s running out. 💃

I know some runners who do really high weekly mileage with no S&C but they don’t race fast they just race long.
Like 100 mile ultras etc.

They will work full time jobs, fit running in alongside that at like 4/5am and then their Strava entries for weekend races are full of conversations and “nice to catch up with you” comments.

There’ll be loads of runners you only bump into at events or see on Strava but when you go to an event you catch up and say hello.

These two absolute fools have none of that.
There is no social circle beyond Gemma & Runz4. There was that FOD chap who Tits for for a race round their goose-shit lake a while back but he’s burnt them off as well.

Interact with people and build some friendships you utter wombles.

Exactly! They have so much time they could help out at a real running club - lead runs (or trail "bimbles") organise groups to go to races, plan social events, help organise club races or events just get stuck in with parkrun.
