I don't understand certain trigger warnings on tv. They seem quite unnecessary. I'm talking about hospital programmes that mention blood.
Emmerdale always seems to have trigger warnings. Bad language is one lady calling another lady a witch. Scenes that some viewers may find upsetting is someone talking about losing a child, etc. Some of hard things but the trigger warnings being given out like sweets just ruins any impact it may have.

I'm sick to death of being lectured about climate change. It's getting to the stage when I just want them all to duck off.

Like most other people I recycle, try not to waste anything, turn lightbulbs off etc And I haven't been on holiday abroad in years. Does this really make me a bad person that should be punished because governments around the world haven't taken steps to find viable alternatives to fossil fuels? They've had bloody decades to do this and still nothing.

Nobody wants the sea to be full of plastic but I didn't make those plastic bottles and I didn't dispose of them incorrectly. Stop lecturing ordinary people who have no real power and do something about China and the other countries who take no bloody notice.

I'm too bleeping old to want to spend the rest of my life huddling in a yurt with no heating so just duck off!
If these big businesses stopped making them we couldn’t buy them. It stops and starts with them, we as consumers can only do so much, yet all the blame is put on us

I don't really give a tit about climate change. The earth's temperature has been changing for thousands of years...look at the fecking ice age. Hate the rich twits that preach about it...wish they'd go off into space on their rocket and stay there. Elon Musk is a hypocrite...making electric vehicles but fucks off into space which gives out a load of emissions. bleep. Most people prattling on about climate change and eliminating oil don't realise most of their products are made from petroleum (their phone, car, etc) but are happy to jet set 3x a year. :D

I don’t mind being lectured on it… buts it’s the fact the likes of the royal family drive 4x4s, live in huge historical mansions, take private jets and helicopters on the reg, have multiple yearly holidays, an extensive designer wardrobe and have zero qualifications on this issue whatsoever that really winds me up.

like what does SAHM Kate Middleton who worked once in her life (part time) for a year or two having completed a degree in fine arts, know about climate change?

nothing. It’s just a PR ploy to keep them in the public’s good books and make them all seem like good people.

I should add, I do think change is real but not as drastic as people think, it's always been happening. The earth is not static.

You're not alone. I used to hate them especially as the same 2 kids would get the lead parts every year and my child would be blending in with the scenery.
The mother of the girl who was always the lead was unbearable too 🙄

Always the blonde haired, blue eyed girl who is an utter witch because everyone blows smoke up her arse at my school. I remember we had a new teacher one year (she was white btw) and she chose a black girl and boy to be Mary and Joseph hell broke loose amongst the Catholic school parents, especially the mother of said blue eyed, blonde haired girl. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣🤣🤣

1) travelling is overrated. and i don't mean a holiday here and there. I mean the overly glamorised travelling 20 countries and finding yourself and living off the land and whatever. The people who travel like this are always SO smug and full of themselves. Travelling like this is one hell of a privilege and no one should be made feel bad cause they like their 9-5 job and having a reliable income.

agreed, travelling isn’t a personality.

I once met an American guy on a holiday in Asia in a hostel. He was telling me how he’d hired a motorbike and was trekking around Asia, and he stumbled across this village and he stay there and connected with the locals and ate rats with them, as though this was a unique and interesting and profound story.

a few years since and I know a ton of people who have done a “home stay” in Asia like he described, eaten rats and all. It’s another tourist trap like any other. I have a theory they just grill the rats to duck with people and they crack up with laughter when they leave then go tuck into their grilled chicken.

most people who can do it are wealthy or have wealthy parents who can offer them a comfortable double bedroom to return home to. It’s basically a slightly more tasteful and subtle way to brag about how well off you are.

a lot of people I knew who do the whole travelling thing are 1. Escaping a painful breakup 2. Lacking all direction in their lives and are using travel as a bandaid or distraction which inevitably won’t work. 3. Really dull or unintelligent and want to appear interesting

I love travelling and would’ve loved to have taken a few months off on a trek around the world but alas I was fending for myself and didn’t have a bedroom at my parents to go back to, so maybe I’m just bitter

I used to say on my dating profile - any prick can get on a plane.
Everyone thinks travel is the source of all happiness - imagine being happy with your life at home and not feeling the need to run off.

Im sick to death of it as well. There are over 4 HUNDRED private jets flying in & parked up , with their passengers attending the climate conference up in Scotland today, whilst they lecture us on flying to Tenerife once a year. 4 HUNDRED private aircraft.
They can duck off.

I don't get the appeal of holidaying abroad and haven't been outside the UK for 20 years.

Abroad's fine if all you want to do is lie on a beach for a fortnight and get a tan but if you like beautiful scenery, nice walks, visiting historical places and enjoying good food and beer there's no better holiday destination than Britain.

Women who don't wear make up look washed out, tired and old. Everyone looks better in make up. Bragging about never wearing any is like bragging that you're proud to look dog rough.
But then I think a lot of women don't suit their make up, especially ones that still do their make up like they did when they were young. I suppose at least they look like they made an effort. Sometimes I see a woman with no make up and wonder of she slept in.

Exactly the sort of thing that most people would think are ludicrous situations to find yourself in. How anyone on the Olympics committee sat with a straight face and said "yep let's let males compete in the same categories as females, sounds fair to me" is a total mystery. It's not allowed in the para Olympics and funnily enough when it was announced I didn't notice a scrum of f2m athletes elbowing themselves into the men's completions, strangely enough.

I have a horrible feeling that because so many of the silent majority feel, as you and I do that they don't want to stick their neck out that it's assumed that we agree with the madness.
(apologies if this has already been mentioned, I just found this thread).

How about Caitlyn Jenner winning Glamour's woman of the year award six months after transitioning 😂🥇

My mam didn’t wear makeup and said it didn’t suit her when I was growing up. A few years ago I did her makeup for her correctly and chose make up that would suit her and she now wears it any time she’s out, even down to the shops.

But tbh I think everyone should just wear what makes them happy and if that’s wearing no makeup then good for them

Aren’t they an ethnic group? Like Irish, Welsh, Scottish, etc? Or am I majorly confused.
I asked this yesterday, apparently they have recently got ethnic minority status. The gist of googling it is that there was the general Irish population and some branched out in around the 17th century ( likely for economic reasons) and took up a nomadic way of life and reproduce with other Travellers.

To be fair to Caitlin, they didn’t have to transition to win gold medals. They were already a fantastic athlete.

But seriously I’m so sick of men being lauded as inspirational for doing stuff that women do daily.

Average subpar men becoming award winning women seems to be a reoccurring theme in modern society.
