UK Literary Luvvies #3 Logistical reasons mean the only recommendations I have are Greek cleaning products

I like ‘northern news’ podcast. It’s funny and light. The one with Tim Key made me laugh so much.

Oh this is new to me, I love Amy Gledhill and some of the guests are smashing. Sunday done. (Massive Tim Key crush too).

The blindboy podcast - it’s a little and a lot of thoughtful, insightful and everything from the origins of techno, to the colour blue via art, history, mental health. This week is the … CLASS SYSTEM. It’s brilliant

I mean I would have thought that was Rye’s tag too but Alex you were an EDITOR with the final say on the finer details. Check your tags 🏰

But… ancient towns don’t tend to have their own Insta accounts?

it wouldn’t occur to me to tag @Stonehenge or @Bath and have, errr, the boss (?) of that place notice and give her a like and be pleased to be tagged.

Did she maybe mean to do a hashtag?

Yeah I think you're right, she needed to do a hashtag :) But you know, Instagram has been around since she stepped down from Vogue- I know Conde Nast as a whole did the digital Vogue as it's a separate entity, but she should still have had some idea of the digital world. I'm a staunch millennial but if my job was editing Vogue I'd try to understand TikTok trends and short form video as it's the future :)

Agree. It’s insane that she gets such basics wrong. And it illustrates that she just does not give a tit - dashes these posts off in five seconds while doing her Ocado order or something.

Does anyone remember this in the EIKAL book? Was cut out of the series for more how cool is Maggie/Dolly shite I think but would have been a great way to show how the characters grew

This has got to be the last week of me highlighting these. I can’t any more 💀 The Vintage tag also isn’t for the publisher

To be fair I just think she reaches for the first tag she can without checking, but it’s too low effort for what’s meant to be her job

It's really worth it I think, you get the normal episode ad-free, the bonus eps, close friends content on Instagram and stickers and postcards mailed to you.
Hard agree. If you have the same tastes as Lauren and Chelsea then the extra eps on films and books are worth it - they're entertaining even if you haven't seen/read what they're talking about

You've both sold me on it 😄

Not to derail to books but I bought Green Dot - but burning through Tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow first. So far it’s ok but I’m not gripped - but people say great things?

On a literary luvvie note - still greatly admire Stacey D’s honesty but she sounds like she has zero capability with money? How did her husband handle it for all those years?! I think she also lost hundreds of thousands after being scammed in Menorca too? Maybe she was taken advantage of while at her lowest ebb though :(

I was left totally cold by Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow - not terrible by any means but didn't get the hype one bit
