I do think she had good intentions and tried to do the right thing and not to confuse the kids. It’s a very sad situation for those kids for every part of their lives to be played out like this 😩
I agree, whether she did the right thing or not, I do think she had good intentions. I could see how it might be upsetting for the kids to see their father only for him to be gone again. It would be Julie that would have to pick up those pieces of the kids being upset, not the father. I think the situation is a rock and a hard place type scenario

TBH she’s created this mess herself by not been truthful with the twins in the first place. If she’d just put aside her own feelings towards the twins dad she wouldn’t be in this situation. She decided to cut the dad out of their lives, she decided to not tell them who he was, she decided to let her dad take over the ‘father’ role, which should never have happened. The twins dad isn’t all innocent in this don’t get me wrong, but today’s stories just show that it’s all on her terms, she decided to not tell the twins the truth, she decided to tell them he was her friend, she decided that he can’t FaceTime them as ‘you can’t rare children through FaceTime’ although I do agree with her on that but all she wants is someone else to be able to palm the twins off on when she decides, it’s all on Julie’s terms, she’s actually quite selfish I think when it comes to the twins and contact with their dad and like I said it’s her way or no way so probably explains a lot about the relationship the twins have with their dad/he’s family. Not saying the dad is totally blameless either but she can’t get over the fact he wants a relationship with the twins and not her so the twins will suffer in the long run because she isn’t getting what she wants.

I know… it’s not a situation I would like to be in. At least she left him see the kids. 😭 in regards to him FaceTiming them, I think it’s a bit late in the day for that as she said, you can’t rear kids via FaceTime 😩 so confusing for those poor little kids

I don't think she has any good intentions tbh. It's all for drama eventually. No dad at first day at school,Christmas, kids being cruel...all content bulking.

Absolutely terrible of her to tell lies about the friend. Wouldn't it have been nice for those kids to tell the news in school that your daddy came home from Oz to visit?

Unless of course it's all a big fib and those kids already know....that scenario wouldn't surprise me either...

There are thousands of children in Ireland not living in a stereotypical mum & dad set up.Thousands of children whose dads mostly live abroad. Many of these parents are handling this in the best way posdible.
Of course you cannot rare a child over the Internet but you can make a child feel wanted and loved. You can positively effect their self esteem and self confidence by showing them you are important to them.God knows they spend enough time on their ipads,a few short video calls a week, sending him videos of them at x y z,him sending clips from Oz,photos etc It's a foundation to build on.Of course if he started letting them down, not ringing at a promised time etc then that would be a different story. There was a real balls made of it all from day one.The whole thing was moulded to suit her narrative.

It's a pity they didn't meet and have a proper conversation before he met up with his children and they discussed what his intentions are with regard to contact, facetime etc and then a proper meeting could have taken place yesterday and the kids could have met their Dad and hopefully over time could build have built trust between them all. Who knows maybe in time he will realise what he is missing and come back home to his kids, but Mejoolie really needs to deal with her own issues too with the break up before anything can progress in any shape or form.

I can't get my head around the fact the kids didn't know they were with their Dad yesterday, that is the saddest thing I have heard in a while 💔

My mam and dad were never together, I’m 24 now and looking back I recognise the effort my dad put in to see me since my step mam didn’t really approve but he tried so so hard and I love him even more today for it, but I also adore the ground my mam walks on because she never withheld that opportunity from me and she never spoke badly of him. The twins are in no way going to thank her when they’re older because she’s lying to “protect” them. I can tell you now they’ll be super angry because they’ll think he didn’t care because she pretended he was a friend 🤷🏼‍♀️

she is so bitter, how many times can you say "he fucked off" we know that's not the truth, they were both moving to Australia, and she fucked up on her visa, she was the one who made it so they are not together not him. He isn't without blame but he didn't duck off, he never suggested that staying in Ireland was on the cards.

The toddlers are almost 5, dying and leaving are different things and can be explained in an age appropriate way. I guess they don't have a globe or an atlas at home so she can show them where he actually is.

I don’t know lads, I would never leave my own child behind in another continent 😩
Especially when he’s not even from there. I mean you could kind of understand it if he was an Aussie native and his family were over there but they’re all over here. Literally no reason for him to be over there only that he’s putting his own wants and desires above his children’s

None whatsoever! I’ve said it many times before, it’s 2022 and it’s not like there are no jobs here! Once you have kids they should be the TOP priority! Let’s just play devils advocate and pretend that Julie told him he’s never going to see them… would the fucker not rather be in the same country as his flesh and blood? She’s a bigger woman than me anyway. The only thing that is bad is that she is relaying it out to an audience of 110k 😩 and the twins will likely find out!

The thing is she wanted to go, they agreed to go, she was packed and ready but something happened. It is not all on him, she is the one who moved the goalposts.
He has a business out there, he has a life, there might be jobs here but maybe that's not what it is all about? Yes his kids are here but we have no idea what she is saying to him, she might have fully supported him going and said she would follow but then realised the gravy train she was on here wasn't an option over there. I don't trust her at all.

It is what it is.He was an absolute asshole to leave his children for the past number of years(Covid factored in).
But what are the options moving forward? Does she make the decision to deny him access and deny the children a chance to know & form a bond with their dad? Should that be his punishment for what he did?
