Hi ladies. Hope everyone’s okay as can be. ❤

I just wanted to ask that anyone who has been to see a doctor/specialist ect about fertility. How many cycles did you wait before doing so? I know the NHS says a year of trying. Also how long did you have to wait before getting tests ect. Xxx
It may only be the case in Ireland, but depending on your age, if you are over 35 they say 6 months before you should see a doctor, and 12 months if you are younger than that.

If you have endo / PCOS etc, they recommend 6 months also.

I went to the doctor after 4 months - I have endo and my life was being ruined by heavy periods and terrible pain once they removed my coil. 14 months in, and after many ovarian stimulation cycles, surgeries, HCGs and too many pelvic ultrasounds to count, we are about to embark on our first cycle of IVF.

We waited until a year of being off the pill, mainly because I felt something was off (everything’s been okay so far though), and I know how long referrals can take if needed. I have long cycles so my GP said when she sends a referral they may want me to have at least 12 cycles, but it’s taken so long for my OH sperm analysis appointment that I will be at 12 cycles once the results come through.
They were relatively quickly getting me tested (day 3,day 21 bloods ultrasound scan) it was recommended once they were okay to get a sperm analysis booked. And here we are, he had it today!

I waited around 3 years!!! Mainly because I didn't want to face up to a problem, hubby got a date with a cup and I had an ultrasound and hysterosaplingogram (hystericalpingpong!) the results were clear so we were sent for IVF. Took a fair few months for the tests and appointments
Thank you for your reply. I think thats the thing with us, what you don’t know can’t hurt kind of feeling. I’m glad you managed to see somebody. Sending love ❤️

Thank you for your reply. ☺️ I’m under 35 so it’s suggested to wait a year. Which it almost has been now. Gosh sounds like you’ve been through a lot, but so pleased you’re about to start IVF, wishing you all the luck in the world with it and sending love. ❤️

Thank you for your reply lovely. I think we’re going to ring the doctors soon to get seen for tests, so appreciate your reply with how long to wait/ tests ect. That’s great news that at least you’ve now managed to get all the tests done. Keeping my fingers crossed for you, sending love ❤️

I’m on DPO 10-11 today and I tested and got a BFN. I know it’s still early but because I have endo I can recognise the pre-AF symptoms again since a few of them are distinct from PMS/pre-pregnancy.

It’s my first cycle off the pill so I’m telling myself that it was good to be positive and hope to be a unicorn but it was very unlikely. I feel a bit weirdly upset too that I didn’t really get to just try for a few months then start OPKs and temping etc but had to track everything from the start. But I’m grateful I got to figure out how to do testing and temping and I ovulated in my first cycle which was a worry I had for a while.

In terms of taking ibuprofen for my endo - even though I feel its unlikely now, am I out for the count yet or so I need to wait for AF?

Having so many bizarre symptoms that could be early pregnancy but I'm only on day 40 of my cycle and they range anywhere from 35-68 days so I figure I've realistically still got a month before I could even test (that's presuming AF doesn't arrive first of course). It's so frustrating having such erratic cycles, in theory I could literally be over 2 months pregnant before I even knew because of it lol.

Hey everyone, can I join?
9 unsuccessful cycles in a row. I've been having really heavy periods so I'm considering making a doctors appointment. I did in the past and got told I had a couple of cysts but that was it, no follow-up. Starting to think there is something going on with me.

I think you're the first person I've seen on here with similar cycles to me. It's really difficult isn't it, you never quite know where you're at with it. Do you use OPKs? I'm on CD30 with no noticeable peak yet, it's my first cycle tracking though so I'm intrigued to see if/when I ovulate. There could be another 30 days left in the cycle (!)

It really is! I haven't used OPKs before as this is my first cycle actively trying to conceive so I figured I'd give it a few months just rolling with it to see what happens really. It would definitely be interesting though, I do seem to have a lot of 'typical' signs of ovulation, it just seems to happen a lot later than it should if that makes sense. But then again, I could be misinterpreting it and it not be happening at all! So it's hard to know really :( Like you say it's a nightmare thinking you could be anywhere between 1-30 days away from your period. Such bloody variety! This year alone I have had cycles of -

68, 39, 54, 54 and currently on 40 lmfao.

I’m on 8 days DPO & I just caved & tested but it’s a BFN. I don’t know why I did it & now I feel rubbish! But I knew that would happen. So mad at myself.

It's just so tempting isn't it 😔
I'm about 9/10 dpo now and I've tested the last 3 days just with cheapy strip tests. All BFN obviously! Going to try and wait until the weekend to test again. AF is due early next week. From today's googling it looks like very few people get a positive at 10dpo so need to stop being so keen 🤦🏻‍♀️ might get my bf to hide the tests from me haha.
Fingers crossed in a few more days for both of us 🤞

This is me every cycle! I refuse to buy tests now until the day before AF is due! Can’t take the feeling rubbish any more! Hope you’re okay hang on in there you’re not out yet 🤍🤞🏼 x

I tell myself I’m testing because I need to know if I can start taking painkillers for my period/drink alcohol at my Hen do this weekend

I’m now 11-12DPO and had a sleepless night which is always a sign AF is 2-3 days away so I’ve already accepted that and I just want to get it over done with since I know with my endo it will be a horror show!

I haven’t tested ov this month so not sure if/when but I’m approx 4/5 based on ewcm only, but I’ve been having a stitch type feeling and pulling sensation on my left side all day. Joining the symptom spotting train super early this cycle 😂

Argh me too. My Melons are ginormous and my nips need to be free bcus I can't stand them being in a bra or against any material. I've had back ache, cramping, my sinuses are all funky. I think I'm around 8dpo but didn't test. Not sure I can hold off peeing on a stick for much longer.

Also adding nausea to this now too... 🤢

Hi everyone?

what is the earliest you would take a pregnancy test or should I just wait until AF is due? I want to be disappointed as soon as possible and get it over with.

Hello everyone!

Any advice for best test for ovulation? I'm currently using the Flo app which obviously can't test and isn't accurate but I like to track everything

I've been off the pill properly for about two years now as I was single and not really sleeping with anyone. I am with someone now and I've never tried to conceive before now so it's my first time.

I've had really sore nips for a few days and also fatigue. Yesterday I had what looked like implantation bleeding, pink/brown sticky discharge but today I had what is a normal period. I've never had this sticky pink discharge before a period, it's always been a heavy flow right away and I also never had any pms symptoms leading upto this and I always do (overeating mainly)

I take the fact I started bleeding normal red blood is a sign it's just my period and I aren't preggers but has anyone else experienced this? Do you think it's just because my body is getting used to having sex all the time? Just wondered if anyone has had anything similar

Arghh so obviously I didn't wait to test again at the weekend and did another cheap strip test this morning. I thought there was a really super faint line but could just be going crazy. Looking at the test now (a couple of hours since I took it) and there's nothing at all 😔

I always just wait until AF shows, I’ve only ever tested when it’s been late. I’m fairly certain most people test around 10-12 DPO thoug

In terms of ovulation testing, I started off by using just the cheap sticks from Amazon - the easy@home ones, then started using the Clearblue Digital, then started temping too. I know some people just use the cheapies, it depends if you always get a clear positive or not, but I rarely do so use other things to be sure.

About the bleeding, it could be linked to sex, I’d keep a note of your symptoms in an app and try tonotice if there’s any patterns.
