I can’t wait for the xc!! I’m one of those who shouts sit uuuuuuup at the tv 🤣
I can't wait. I think I am actually in love with Ballaghmor Class

The women's 4x100m relay should be interesting for the Jamaican team. Obviously no love lost there.

Really looking forward to the women's 800m final. The GB girls excelled themselves but Mu looked imperious. Should be a great race.

Sorry but I don't know why the other women even try at this point, it's always won by the Jamaican ladies, Elaine was way in front 😂 but well done Dinah for our country 🇬🇧

Oooh apparently there is tension between Shelley Ann Pryce and Elaine Thompson. Thought it was a bit frosty, not really hugging/congratulating each other😂

Yeah one of them even left and switched to a new coach!!! They both used to have the same one

Also shout out to the wonderfully named Jamaican 100m runner 'Oblique Seville'. His mum obviously had an inkling as to his future career when he was born.

It’s not really ‘cross country’ is it. I know we are completely spoilt in this country with badminton etc but this isn’t proper cross country

Yeah they have had to cut it down due to the humidity I believe, especially for riders later in the day. I guess I’m anxious for all those younger horses who haven’t had as many runs like I think London 52 has had one 5* run?

think I’m going to watch Laura and London and then I’m going to sleep as I’m not feeling too well and hoping a proper sleep is just what I need as I have things to do today!

I absolutely love the Olympics and watch as much as I can every single time, however, my husband is a absolute knob about it.
He has taken to belittle every event that he believes is not "conventional", such as BMX and dressage. He has even had a pop at tennis and golf, because he thinks it's unfair that professionals get to compete, unlike boxing.
What does everyone else think???

Your husband is a knob. He should go and sit on 600kg of hot blooded horse and try and get a tune out of it

I am the same as you, I can watch any of the Olympic sports (even the ones that usually I wouldn't bother with, I mainly watch it because it is so bloody rewarding watching people like Beth Shriever win against all the odds).

I do kind of see your husbands point of view with the elite sport competitors taking part (like Murray or Djokovic) they already have so much fame, money and dont struggle for funding/sponsorship like some of the other athletes do so I do think it would be nice to see less well known sports persons taking their place in the Olympics while they stick to the grand slams and other competitive matches. Having said that they are a huge draw for crowds (hardly relevant this year though).

Love the equestrian events because it is another level of drama adding a animal that could be unpredictable into the mix. It isnt like a runner that is in total control of their own race.

Also the horses are pretty bloody amazing!

I’m getting really annoyed with the bbc coverage. Been waiting for the bmx freestyle to start. Only to find it had already started on the red button channel, however I didn’t realise this because the red button channel and iplayer is currently advertising beach volleyball. I have no interest in beach volleyball but thought I’d check just in case and of course I’ve missed the start of the bmx🙄 not the first time I’ve gone to put something on live on bbc only to find its a completely different event being shown.

A run out for Germany so as long as Tom can go clear, he can afford a few time penalties to give us a couple of fences over the others tomorrow.

yep, still awake, tried to sleep. Think I’m going to watch Tom and then switch off again to try and get some shut eye in!
