My understanding is they’re not bbc cameras and don’t have any control on what is being shown? So if it cuts to Simone watching then they just simply commented on it? Correct me if I’m wrong.

There were a few times where it didn't cut to Simone and they still mentioned it. Also, even if it cuts to the spectator stands where she is they don't have to mention that she's there as a few different girls were there also watchingMy understanding is they’re not bbc cameras and don’t have any control on what is being shown? It is more about how often they did it. Though yes showing her each time someone performed which happened in the team all-round was also disrespectful to the other people competing there who also deserve recognition for what they have done and how well they had coped with the changesI don't understand why you believe that showing Simone Biles is disrespectful. It's a somewhat strange logic. It would be even more bizarre IMO to not refer to one of the most decorated Olympians in history who has been part of a major story this week and who is right there with the team watching them.
If Christian Eriksen was at Wembley in the semi final of the Euros against England, would it be disrespectful to show him or refer to him?
Navid Afkari could have been an Olympian for Iran, but they hanged him
JACK BEZANTS: If things had been different, Navid Afkari could be fulfilling a lifelong dream of representing Iran in Olympic wrestling this week.www.dailymail.co.uk
How utterly horrific.
The same happened every time Usain Bolt ran. BBC did a ‘BoltDown’ (countdown) til his race and it was always about him. I know he didn’t drop out and stay and watch but similar idea- the star of the show (unsure if to use that term here but meh) gets all of the limelight and everyone else is background noiseIt is more about how often they did it. Each or nearly every performance shouldn’t turn into ‘and here is Simone Biles’. It’s honestly disrespectful both to the competitors and her as it’s ultimately putting pressure and spotlight on her once again
If you watch other sports we’re famous and impactful past players appear, they’re at most shown once or twice and no one feels the need to comment that they’re there
Anyone else want him to get together with Katie Hopkins just for shits and giggles?he is a disgusting human being. Everything he says is for a reaction and to incite hatred. I wish to god these tv companies would stop employing him and giving him a platform. He makes me sick
Anyone staying up to see the eventing dressage? I’m debating watching the first few and then trying to sleep as I have a meeting in the morning. But I may also end up watching all the way through
Totally forgot about the cross country on Saturday night and have to do some family things on Sunday… definitely staying up for it though so Sunday is going to be a painful day
You’re welcome! I’ve attached the schedule so you have it xx
