A statement from Allisson regarding something she said about singing in theatres. 🙄 This is what is wrong with cancel culture. Any conflicting opinions have to be apologised for and retracted. It's not that deep. Some people are offended by everything.

Nope nope nope, they were all in the wrong and its honestly shocking anyone thinks its acceptable to sing along at a theatrical performance!! Especially people in the entertainment industry themselves. How about people talking over them when they're presenting?

This isnt a difference of opinion, this is normalising and encouraging anti social and entitled behaviour that is on the increase. Singing along at a musical has never been acceptable and if people think it is, then they need to look at themselves and realise they are actually the minority and in the wrong.

It's not a concert. It's disrespectful to the performers on stage, the people around you didn't pay to hear you murder a song. And the FOH staff don't deserve verbal and physical obuse when they tell you to be quiet.

It’s ok though as she doesn’t do it at the top of her lungs… I’m glad Alison apologised though. Although she believes it’s ok to sing and said that I do wonder how much she actually sings at musicals? When you have a show like this morning are your someone like her do you spew crap to keep conversation going or do really believe everything you’re saying?

Hopefully loud Alison will be cancelled

She has a regional accent, she's a woman of colour, and she's overweight ... that's three boxes ticked right there. No way she'll get cancelled. Of course, those three things I mentioned really aren't of importance compared to messing with teenage boys or taking the piss out of the public by expecting special treatment as the Queen lay in state. Frizzell won't sack anyone unless they openly mock his stupid hair.

How can it be that daytime TV presenters are the leading voices on theatre etiquette? Do people not have common sense/personal agency/a basic capacity to be polite and well behaved? Do we really think that the rowdy people in that performance thought - "oh, Alison and vanessa said it's alright to sing along, so I'm going to belt out the songs alongside the cast? "This whole thing is ridiculous. Yes, the comments were really really silly. And if Alison and Vanessa choose to behave badly in a theatre, that's a matter for them and the unfortunate audience members in their vicinity. However, This Morning is about as authoritative as "Woman's Own" when it comes to shaping societal codes on behaviour, and it should be treated as such.

Did anyone notice how they didn't have any presenters on the title sequence this morning?

They never do when it’s not Holly & Phil or Alison & Dermot presenting. When it’s guest presenters, they haven’t made an opening sequence with those presenters so they just use a presenterless opening credits instead

They’ve done this for years

When did he say that?
It was on his social media and think it was in the DM side bar of shame.... AH is getting some more stick on there.
Dermot added: 'Could I politely urge anyone passing judgement on the clip to watch the whole interview... as I was actually arguing AGAINST people singing too loudly in theatres.
'Nothing but love and respect for those treading the boards. Peace and love to all.'

Ahh fair enough. I don't have it on a huge amount so I've obviously missed it in the past.

Why is Allisson getting all of the backlash when there were three people voicing the same opinion in that conversation?

I am listening to Holly's Wylde Moon podcast and what strikes me is that she is MUCH more likeable away from Phillip. She is much more engaging and less obnoxious. She really needs to distance herself from him. The trouble is she has a £16 million pound mansion that is probably mortaged to pay for. She could get TV work but nothing as stable as she has now, so she is stuck. I reckon she is hoping Phil gets the boot and she gets paired up with a strapping young man. Roman Kemp would be interesting presenting alongside Holly.

Enter Joel Dommett. Phil couldn't have been a bit happy seeing their chemistry, reminiscing away about their time in Australia for I'm a celeb.

That would be better. I imagine the viewing figures have changed the last couple of years with people working from home etc. Likely more younger viewers that would have traditionally been at work away from the TV. I watch now & then but some younger presenters would interest me more.

She was like that when she hosted IACGMOH with Dec. She was totally different without Philth. I actually liked her 🤣
