The Royal Family #50

I will say, I don’t get why they release a card at all to be honest. If they use it for donors of their charity charitable entity -maybe? But why put a family picture on it? If you don’t want to show your children more power to you. I can only applaud this decision. But then don’t put a family picture out there. Do you want people to support you in terms of business and otherwise let you live your life in peace- which is what they always are insinuating. Or do you want them to be invested in your private lives and the ones of your children? Because a family picture is most definitely blurring the lines. Doesn’t matter if we see the children’s faces or not.

I agree re Harry and Meghan's card. If you want your kids kept out of the limelight then don't even show them from behind at a distance. I can't even work out, what's the point in that? To show us they're a happy family? Also it does also seem contradictory to protect your own kids from the public eye but then have other children on your card. Did they get a say in their face being all over the internet and world?

Some interesting wording in this article about King Charles and his treatment continuing into 2025, particularly this.

A Palace source told Sky News "His treatment has been moving in a positive direction and as a managed condition the treatment cycle will continue into next year".

I would have assumed prostate cancer but the palace specifically stated it wasn't.

Managed condition? Is that a way of wording it's terminal / incurable and the chemo is for life extending

Yes, I've been picking up on these mentions lately, saw that this morning and also PW said to Trump last week about his Dad 'My father is fighting very hard in his cancer battle.'

Charles hasn't looked well for a long time, and I'd say his treatment is palliative as opposed to curative, but I used to care for an elderly lady with cancer and it was almost dormant - she had minimal treatment and was into her 90s. He may survive several more years, but I think we'll see William taking on more responsibility next year now Catherine has finished her own treatment.

I disagree. I think Charles looks well. Apart from being completely white and his hair thinning a bit, I think he looks good.

He also said back in October, at the Commonwealth Heads meeting in regards to doing his duty for "however many years God grants me" . Given he is a religious man that could not have any significant meaning but given he said it during cancer treatment it makes you wonder.

As @Don'tlookEthel said, it's probably incurable but can be managed and he may be around for quite some time yet.

I don't. I often think he looks like he's had a bag of flour in his face!
