Nothing Trump says sounds good. He's an inarticulate moron. William might have said, oh you know, Papa is brave, taking it on the chin, but Trump can only grasp a cartoonish meaning of fighting or losing.

It’s such an odd thing to be nominated for. No offence to her, but she’s done nothing this year because she was unwell. The whole circus around everything was definitely a big moment but not a person of the year type thing. I’d honestly be more than a bit offended to be featured on that list with a few of those people.

I can’t imagine William will have said anything personal or confidential to Trump. The Royals will be well aware how indiscreet he can be when trying to prove how well connected he is.

Maybe it's because that Catherine was hounded into the media into putting out a statement about her cancer treatment? She took the situation and owned it in her own way, I guess. I do feel that the media went too far over the line with her absence. Perhaps the Times are recognising this and offering a sweetener....

Hitler was once named Time Person of The Year…that’s just a fact that stayed with me from history class!! It’s an odd list this year, and slim pickings. I would have said Gisèle Pelicot. I think it will be Trump.

Im surprised that there isn’t more of a discussion over Gisèle Pelicot not even being on the short list!

It's an American magazine, I'm not sure a French story made enough headlines for a long enough period in the US to qualify. She would absolutely deserve it. No question.

I think her story is definitely worth considering. It was huge all over Europe. She should be on the list!!
I will say I absolutely get the reasoning. People went absolutely hysterical and fell down so many conspiracy theories because she dared to not share what’s going on. And even when she did, people chose to spin it in a way to prove their own ludicrous theories. In fact, they still do. Her case most definitely is a good example about, how people don’t believe they could be wrong and rather stay in their own thought bubble. The crazier the better. And it’s proof that mass hysteria hasn’t died with the 90s but just took a new form. Kate has the sad „honour“ of being the most prominent example right now.
