Lighting makes big difference. This photo is from the same night. He looks OK for a 76 year old with cancer to me

This is kind of off topic but kind of is on topic as ceremonial presidents have been discussed on here before. I'm conflicted by this image because absolutely the Figians are being utmostly respectful but on the other hand we're a republic, there's no need?

imo Kate didn't go to that, or the Diplomatic Reception, or whatever event she doesn't go to in the future, b/c she doesn't want to. To me she made it pretty clear in her video she basically won't do much at all from now on.

I think Chuck should have sent Ed and Sophie!

I don't think they are being respectful. We are a republic and we don't do that. It's creepy af. It would be like them going to the UK and NOT bowing to the King.

Camilla is chesty and Kate is presumably still recovering. This just randomly popped up on my Facebook, Kate cooing at the baby and William looking awkward as fvck in a Galway pub

Ah would you look at them in my hometown! In fairness, I wouldn't look comfortable sitting beside a fiddler either. One change of key or tempo and you'd get an elbow to the face and a bow in the eye.

They definitely intended it to be respectful though so I think we should just take it that way. It was obviously their own idea so leave them off. I definitely wouldn't be bowing to any of the rf if I went to the UK and I don't think our sports teams would either. It's not disrespectful not to bow to the rf. It's not compulsory anymore either as far as I know.

If they really wanted to be respectful, they would have asked what the form is, instead of making a holy show of the President like that.
