I think that Letizia should burn that dress! It’s a beautiful colour but there is nothing redeeming about it. I don’t even think it would suit anyone, those designs are really bad. She usually hits the mark so maybe this was an off day. I agree it’s great she’s wearing a home grown designer! If I was a Royal I’d definitely look for up and coming designers in the UK to champion.

But not that green thing that Kate wore recently to the fashion awards, was it?
perosnally, I thought it was hideous. It clung and bagged at the same time, which I suppose is a feat in itself.
I wouldn’t have given it house room if it were free.

I think that’s just poor tailoring on the designers part. I don’t know who would suit that because like you said it was clingy and baggy at the same time.

Going to get hate for this but I liked what Meghan wore at the polo yesterday. She should wear red lipstick more often.
 
I think the problem was less the design (even though I think the belt was a big miss) but the choice of fabric. It looked as if the couldn’t hold the weight of the belt. And it was obviously not tailored to Kate and didn’t do her figure any good.
I think Kate is not at a healthy weight. To me, she looks too thin. In the last trimesters she was still very slim but the added weight made her look incredible. In some cuts it’s very well concealed but others are just pointing it out in an unflattering way. I don’t think she lost much weight over the years since the wedding, maybe even not at all. But sadly, the unflattering cuts are more trendy right now and the loss of baby fat in her face just make it more obvious. The pink dress from the garden party made her look just toned instead of gaunt for example.
In the end, it’s not really my problem though. If she wants to be this thin and muscular that’s all that counts. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I wasn't sure about the white shorts. Not sure if it was the cut, the length or the colour but I thought they looked a bit odd. Quite like the blouse and hat. She looked very relaxed.

I love how the DM described her as having a 'My Fair Lady' moment. It was actually more 'Pretty Woman' but they probably would have been accused of calling her a prostitute. 🤪

That was the thing, though … she wore it because it was a design of whoever it was that won the Emerging British Designer (or similar 😁) award. If that was the pick of their collection or the one best suited for her, then I may just quibble with the thought she has to wear British!

I think she carefully balances nutrition v exercise so that she always ends up at a zero or sub zero balance … which is teetering on the edge of, if not an actual, disorder.
Unfortunately, she’s coming to that age when it starts to show, especially in the face. I do think a few inches of the length of her hair would help there as well.

I don’t think it was either - the media have this need to reference everything! A new band is “the next Beatles”, Kate wears blue anything and she’s “channeling Diana”. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Exactly! How many people work for 70 years! I imagine the State opening of Parliament would have been very tiring, and especially reading the speech. Not as if she could just make a quick exit if needed. She’s picking and choosing and I don’t blame her.

They have already said she won’t be taking the salute at Trooping the Colour. I literally think it be a quick balcony appearance.
 
The only person making her do it is herself though. If she can't do her job, she should have retired. Her ' job' such as it is isn't going to the races and flower shows, it's the other stuff, even if it makes no difference. Yes, abdication blah blah. We now know Wallis Simpson was used as a scapegoat to Ditch Edward the Nazi, yet for some reason she is too stubborn to let Charles have a decent go She is being cruel to her own son making him do the duties without the status. I wonder if its because she knows that as soon as she goes, Andrew will be cut loose? He is still getting to parade around in his Knights if the garter get up.

She's actually letting Charles do all the really important stuff. She doesn't need to abdicate. She'll always be TQ in everyone's eyes until she dies anyway.
 
I think it’s down to her speech when she said she would serve no matter if her life was long or short - after the previous few Kings she probably didn’t think she would still be reigning 70 years later.

She still does all the state boxes etc - her faculties are all there it’s her mobility letting her down. So she’s slowly passing stuff to Charles.

But I have to admit I will be disgusted to see Andrew at the Order of the Garter. Especially on Camillas first one. The focus should be on her.

She made it perfectly clear in her Ascension Day message that she’s going nowhere. She even signed it ‘Your Servant’.
Shes doing the day to day Queening and sending Charles out for the long pomp and ceremony bits.
seems fair enough after 70 years.
 
He looks like a mix between Voldemort and an Android (think Michael Fassbender as David 8). What is the problem with getting a realistic image, with some artistic license aka touch ups nowadays. It’s like Kate’s portrait that made her look like a spooky grandmother. Or the Diana Statue. Who wants to be remembered like that? More Winterhalter less Menzel (I know it’s a bad comparison because both are important artists). Ian Rank-Brosdley’s work was especially disappointing as his other stuff is quite good. And even if you don’t want to polish, they still don’t look like themselves. Who picks those artists and who signs off on their designs??????
