It's not a good sign when you physically gasp at someone's appearance. I've done that with Kate several times over the past few months.

The dress is lovely, but it draws so much attention to her frame. You can be muscly and still have an eating/exercise disorder. She looks ill - and I say this as an almost lifelong sufferer.

Kate is really getting premieres right now, isn't she? This on top of the gold dress for Bond.

I think she must have more leeway with a film premiere than her normal Royal duties. She'd never wear anything like this dress or the gold one to a state banquet. She gets accused of being boring but I think she's just respectful to the role and position she has.

I was at my parents house this week and had a rummage through some of my old stuff and found this .... 'The Queen Elizabeth Coronation Book' by Neil Ferrier. It's from 1953. Where these given to everyone in the country at the time? I can't imagine my parents buying one.

My copy is absolutely battered and held together with masking tape but some of the pictures inside are amazing.

Absolutely. It’s a gorgeous dress but the neckline draws the attention to her arms and collar bones and she just looks … not healthy. If you remember that the camera adds at least a couple of pounds…..
It’s normal. Being very thin and muscular at a certain age will give you this look. But I find it very aging.
The sleek hair fits the dress but is not a good look on Kate.
I do like her earrings but I think a bit more royal sparkle (bracelets) would have helped to draw the eye away from her arms…..
Going a completely different route than at the Bond Premiere was a smart decision. Both looks stand on their own and cannot really be compared.
I think she would look so much better with a few inches of her hair
still long enough to put up but not so much it drags her face down. It being poker straight doesnt help that either
She’s reaching that age where being so thin shows in her face.
the off the shoulder look isn’t the best for her either … i remember my sporty friend having her wedding dress made and the dressmaker rolling her eyes at her ‘tennis player shoulders’ and vetoing anything that drew attention that way.

If she could just put 1 stone on, just 1, she would look absolutely amazing. I hope she doesn't have an eating disorder but I really wouldn't be surprised with the pressure of being in the public eye brings.
I would imagine that her food intake and expenditure is carefully crafted to remain at a zero balance. It must be so restrictive not to just have a French fancy if the whimsy takes you without having to get on the treadmill. All the Jubilee banquets must be a nightmare. I mean, I understand restraint would be needed but honestly, live a little. Have a crisp And don't feel guilty.

There’s no denying that Kate is incredibly thin. I think in a life where she has so little control over things (protocol, her role, even going to the shops if Meghan is to be believed) that controlling her weight, what she eats and when she works out is probably a way to keep control over at least one element of her life. I’m not saying it’s healthy but I can certainly see why that would be the case. I also think that we have become so accustomed to fat being normal in this era that seeing someone so thin can be jarring. Sorry I said what I said (I could use to loose a few pounds myself so no judgement here but we are in an obesity crisis after all).

Why did the dress maker veto it? If your friend didn't want to draw attention to it fair enough, but why couldn't she be proud of the muscles she's built without a dress maker trying to turn them into an insecurity.

Maybe I'm being sensitive but it seems a bit off that women are told to hide the muscles they've worked hard and trained for but men are told to show them off.

Actually, dressmaker sounds more upmarket than it was - it was our old Needlework teacher. Anyway, friend is not someone who ‘does’ fancy dresses - or dresses at all, really. Fashion at the time was for very elaborate flouncy wedding dresses. NT actually made some mock-up bodices in calico for friend to try to see what would suit her best and threw in an off the shoulder just so she could hate it. Basically all the NT wanted was for her to feel comfortable and like looking back at the photos. What she actually ended up with was a bodice in that owed a lot to the style of a sports top and a skirt that was actually culottes. It bucked every fashion trend at the time but it was ‘her’ and she loved it. And not a shoulder bone in sight. Collaboration at its finest 😊

Currently watching this video and at last have heard God Save The Queen played decently rather than the usual dirge.
Sounds royal and there was royalty there too! 😄

The Jubilee concert is very American based? I thought it would be a bit more British with a lot of support from Commonwealth countries.
I don’t keep up with the chart music at all but are these people popular now? Jax Jones? Mabel? Sigala? Then you have Craig David who hasn’t been relevant for a generation it feels and Mica Paris?
It’s such a random line up.
I would have tried to get Paul McCartney with a cameo from Ringo, The Rolling Stones, Ed Sheeran and Adele (I mean where the F are they?!).
What about my fellow Tattlers, who would you have?

Alisha keys is on there. She was relevant about 15+ years ago. Same for Craig David. I've heard of Mabel, but hardly the type of music for the Queen. You would imagine that with all the musicians this country has produced, we could do a lot better than that. I know they want to make it modern music, but most of it is trash.
