Came across this today , it's frankly a sickening read noel genuinely believes he did nothing wrong all those years ago because there was no knock on the door to day so and Is pulling the victim card when talking about brutal comments from people saying he should have been arrested
He sees them as similar aged people who were just kids when Chris came along
As oppose to him just about to turn 18
She fell pregnant only a month after first date

Thirteen year old Sue probably wanted a baby. In their book they never write about any fear or worry about becoming parents. Sue just said she was worried about her parent's reactions but her mum didn't seem that bothered.

They weren’t “in care”. They were both adopted as babies. The stories of them being in care and that they were in children’s homes just rolled by the minions. Just fantasy.

And by all accounts both had very happy secure childhoods. What I don’t get is how Sue’s brother must have gone along with it. Finding out your mate has been shagging your (very much younger) sister would be a red flag to most young men.

I've seen minions romanticizing it by saying they were in foster care together and their current house was previously the care home where they met, and now they've changed it from a care home to a loving family home. They're just pulling things out of their arses to make it sound better. From the sounds of it Sue and Noel didn't even know at first that the other was adopted so it's not like they bonded over being orphans and fell in love.
It's hardly a dramatic love story. They weren't little Tracey Beakers who found comfort in each other. She was a little girl who admired her big brother and his friends as kids do, and he was a filthy bloke who saw an opportunity for a shag with a vulnerable girl who wouldn't expect much of him. There's a reason girls his age didn't want him.
That's what I told my daughters friend who was dating a 19 year old at 15. There's a reason he can't get a girlfriend his own age. Same applies to Nowull. Girls his own age saw right through him to the weirdo he was. He knew little kids like Sue would think him cool and smart simply for the fact that he was older and wouldn't be as confident in herself or as likely to call out bad behaviour. He probably fed her all sorts of rubbish. And convinced her she was sooo much more mature than the other 13 year olds. Made her feel ultra special and reliant on him. And it's still working, she's a grandmother but she still seeks his validation every time she opens her mouth. Still thinks he's the bees knees.
God imagine being forever tied to the person you were dating at age 13. Imagine how much worse that would be if that person was a creep.
It’s weird because I’m sure they talked about both having been in care or abandoned as babies in one of their early TV programmes. I definitely had the impression that they met as teenagers in a children’s home or foster care. Just goes to show how people can be manipulated to have a certain (false) view of the past. Having read on here and skimmed through parts of their book, I now understand that Noel is a predator who groomed Sue and that he should have been prosecuted.

This is what I remember as well, must have been a very early show as I haven’t watched them in years just pop in the thread every so often.
Its concerning that she was only seven when she met him. Hopefully the version given in their book, about conceiving Chris immediately is correct, and nothing happened before she was thirteen.

surely it makes no difference? whether she was 13 the first time he raped her, or younger than that - she was a child either way. plus he had been grooming her for years before she was 13, so she will still face the impact of being abused since she was a young child - yet has never received therapy to process the abuse and trauma because Nowull has successfully gaslighted her into believing the abuse was okay, because they were "in love" and are still together all these years later. it's so twisted and gross - and hardly. any wonder she is so emotionally stunted, growing up with babies at an age where she should have still been playing with dolls.
worse still is that Nowull seems to think he should be applauded for "waiting" til she was 13 before he raped her - as though he thinks he deserves respect for his restraint.

I think it does make a difference in legal terms. It's a different offence for children under 13, which Sue almost certainly was when the p@edo pie man started raping her. Over 13, it's statutory rape, they take into account teenagers ages, eg if Sue and Noel were both around 13, then no action would be taken. The length of time from first date to pregnant (around about a month) also strongly points at Noel love-bombing and having groomed Sue.

I just hoped her childhood before 13 was free of any sexual abuse. It's terrible that this happened to her at 13 and she didn't get a normal adolescence. I'm not excusing what Noel did, she was far too young at 13 and she is a victim.

Parents usually have the chat to their children if having sex so again guess their adopted parents had no idea

Noel did try to trace his birth mother, but Sue didn't want to!
Not sure they’d want to know them. Hardly going to be proud of their offspring’s achievement. Certainly in the case of Noel’s birth parents.
