I know single parents can get benefits until the child is 5 but what will happen when they marry?

If they live together and either or both parent claims benefits they need to declare it as they are no longer classed as single.

Yes they could have a joint claim. Universal credit/child benefit is up until the age of 18yrs/or full time education (not university)
So not just until the age of 5yrs.

I knew that but they are given enough money to not have to work until the child is 5 then they have to actively look for work and prove it to the authorities.

When she was unboxing the pram her boyfriend was just sat there doing nothing, didn't ask if she needed help or anything, he's bound to become the dad that plays around with Ronnie for 5 minutes and leaves all the rest for Katie. Well let’s be honest she’s just used him for his sperm anyway. I doubt he even knew she was planning on having a baby, he’s 21 fgs and I also doubt they’re madly in love.

As someone said, Katie basically raised Archie and was one of Sue’s main babysitters after Sophie and Chloe. I think if anything Sue would be handing Archie back and chucking in Heidie and Bonnie for good measure!

Sue!??? Er don't think so.Once the baby is past the "cute newborn stage" Sue will be off cooing over Chloe's baby.
Also Katie pretty much raised so many of her siblings so I think if the boyfriend does go off the scene she will do just fine.
