The Nest (bbc)

How old do we think the little girl is 6 or 7? I’m wondering if that baby that was murdered along with the mother actually died or whether it was covered up/reported that she did die when in fact she didn’t. That little girl is the baby that supposedly died? I feel like maybe the woman who died was Kayas sister? Why would she have Neve tattooed on her foot otherwise. Possibly the nutty mum stabbed her but Kaya was blamed. So the little girl is Kayas niece? Maybe I’m reaching 😂

But then you’ve got the little girls line; “we picked up mum from here once” ..a red herring to make us think Kaya was the little girls mum? Why would they make a point of having her say that in a police station. The only likely person would then be Kaya, who’s obviously been in trouble and known to police.
I just don’t think that’s possible, she would have been very very young. I mean technically it is possible but a bit of a stretch. I think they are related but not mother and daughter.

can’t figure any of it out just yet.

There is definitely something about the social workers little girl. She's been in it too many times to not have any relevance to Kaya I think. But it is weird that the dad said the mum was out of rehab and using again? So I dunno 🤷‍♀️
I looked at the synopsis on the sky planner for the last 2 episodes 🙈 wish I hadn't, still didn't give much away but did kinda ruin a bit for me...my own fault though 😅

I thought that about the police station too but then he goes on to say to the other SW that her mum is out of rehab and back on the streets using. If she is a drug user she’s likely to have been arrested many times. So possibly a red herring to make you think it’s related to Kaya but actually not

Interesting theories!

I definitely think the social worker and his daughter are involved somehow but not sure how.

Kaya’s mum is a bit sinister too so not sure if she’s more involved than they’ve been letting on?
Its amused me that Kaya’s mum was Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter films and the reporter girl was Cho Chang 😂
Oh yes! 💡 Shirley Henderson was in Trainspotting too 👌🏻

I really hope it's not the case that she refuses to give up the baby - it would have been so predictable as being the obvious way for the plot to go. I thought Dan and Emily's reaction to the baby in nicu was a bit weird? I suppose it was a shock but still not to say or do anything was strange. 🤷‍♀️

But do we think the baby is theirs? Kaya was in a relationship with her next door neighbour around the same time she got pregnant.
I think it is theirs because surely when the embryo was being implanted the scan would have shown if she was already pregnant? Although perhaps it would have been too early to show.
I don’t know, but would normal procedure dictate that a pregnancy test is always done before implantation just in case the woman is already pregnant?
I’m overthinking this - it’s a fictional TV programme! 😁

I binge watch episodes 2/3. Then re- watched 1 again. I think the mum killed the pregnant women. I was thinking the pregnant women who murdered. Did the baby survive? That would make the child the same age as the social workers kid? I think if you couldn't get into it. watch it again. I am hooked! The social worker was in The Victim. So already get creepy vibes.

I binge watched this series a couple of nights ago and I’m obsessed. I do spend a lot of my time thinking ‘I know this person’.

I’m pretty sure that the Probation Officer and his daughter have something to do with what is going on.

I’m liking this theory!

I'm really enjoying the premise of it all but am struggling big time with the accents.

The guy who died (Kaya's former neighbour) said he could do *something* which I couldn't pick up, despite re-winding several times, and to that she said he'd find out what would happen if he did (paraphrasing)
If it’s the bit from the recap at the start he says he can phone the papers if that’s any help?
