The Nest (bbc)

It doesn't matter what role Shirley Henderson has, I always call her Moaning Myrtle 😂
I think the baby is Emily and Dan's.
Haha same! I can't see her as anything else. Her voice is so distinctive as well which doesn't help.
Kian could be a red herring and the baby is Emily and Dan's but not sure. Maybe Kaya will change her mind and refuse to give up her rights to being the baby's mum 🧐

Yeah, it's very distinctive! I reckon he is a red herring. I'm expecting Kaya to change her mind too, I don't think she'll give the baby up easily.

Why does she have a social worker if she has just been in prison wouldnt she be allocated a probation officer instead or is it because she is supposed to be a care leaver/care experienced. The area of UK im in you wouldnt have a social worker at 18, you'd just have a PA
Scotland have a different criminal justice system to England - social workers are probation. It used to be the same in England (social work and probation were the same qualifications and you could move between roles). I think she probably is leaving care but also under licence which is why she still has a social worker and also probably why she had 2.

Also, Dan docherty claims he paid that dead lad off but had nothing to do with his death.
And the social workers ex is a drug addict. She is the mother of his daughter. He commented last night that she was out of rehab and back on drugs

I think Kaya will either
a) die or not regain consciousness for a long time therefore she cannot agree to transfer guardianship of the baby to Dan and Emily
b) as a result of her accident have memory loss and not know who Dan or Emily are, believing the baby is her own and refuse to give her up

She has already regained consciousness, at the end of last night’s episode.
Her mum’s definitely involved in Neve’s murder I think.

Yeah, she opened her eyes at the end of the episode.
Do you think Kaya is innocent then and her mum committed the murder? I’m not sure but do think the mum is slightly peculiar.

Yeah she’s sinister as duck, I hadn’t thought about connecting her to the murder but it makes total sense, the way they have presented her implies something off - not just because she’s a smack head either.(side note, I know nothing about what lewes is like but I wouldn’t have thought a small Scottish island would be the easiest place to score a regular supply of brown, but maybe im wrong ? Does it have a rough druggy side ?)

How many episodes left?

I don't think the social workers daughter is Kaya's, as the kid looks about 4 and surely she would have still been in some sort of prison or something then? I can't see how he wouldn't be in trouble if they found out. Plus with all the tests she had done for the surrogacy, they would have been able to tell if she'd had a baby before surely? But then the fact he said she was in 're-hab' could have been meaning she was turning her life around, and then when he said she was back on the streets he could have meant because be cover was blown and she was on the run type of thing. Also, when they were arguing at the very start he said it was because he wouldn't let her live with them.

I reckon the mum must be more to do with it. As the whole why she has killed someone hasn't been touched upon. And the way she seemed to enjoy being looked after so much makes it seem like she wasn't cared for.

I don't think Dan did kill that guy. If he paid him off, then maybe he did just buy loads of drugs. But I wonder if the police are going to think it's him anyway.

Maybe Kaya killed him as she got worried he would ruin Dan's career and then she wouldn't get paid for the surrogacy? 🤔

Is the woman back in lewes Kayas mum or the murder victims mum?
I keep thinking the way the social worker is acting and it’s being portrayed is that kaya is his child’s mum but then that doesn’t make a lot of sense in regards to kayas age and prison etc, I do think their is something dodgy with him though.
I don’t think it’s gonna be as clear cut in that kaya just murdered this woman out the blue, either she covered for someone or their was a reason behind it.

The woman is Lewis is Kaya’s mum. When Dan was looking for info he found an interview with her and then the police went to her house to ask if Kaya had contacted her.
I’m not sure what happened in Kaya’s past but she had flashbacks of the victim 🤔

I'm really enjoying the premise of it all but am struggling big time with the accents.

The guy who died (Kaya's former neighbour) said he could do *something* which I couldn't pick up, despite re-winding several times, and to that she said he'd find out what would happen if he did (paraphrasing), which I took as a threat and led me to believe she killed him.

I love the house ... soooo gorgeous. And Emily's hair - amazing!

Here's the info on the house which is available for escapes (it's actually more affordable than what I thought, at just under 2k for a Thursday night, which seems about average/reasonable for luxury abodes): https://www.cottages-and-castles.co.uk/cottages/cape-cove

Maybe you’ll need to watch it with subtitles on 😂
