Anyone think it’s odd the dog being on its own in separate room, you would think if they had been out all nights the dog would be in bed with the girls?
Can’t say anything about the parents cause I don’t know what I would be like if it was my kid the past 3 weeks must be torture for them.

Yes you’re right, it’s easy to see how the two girls downstairs could be missed but also I was surprised with how tucked away Xana’s room is?! The house is a lot less open plan than I had realised, it’s actually a bit of a maze!

Maybe the dog was crated with it being a puppy?

The layout of that house, when you see it in detail, is a labyrinth. There’s no way a stranger or someone unfamiliar with the house layout could have done that — they’d spend more time looking for people than killing them! I do think he was there to kill 1 person and the others were collateral. It’s really sad whatever has happened but for this person to still be on the loose must be absolutely terrifying for the community. Hopefully there’s a crack in the case soon.

I do find the possibility the killer went out the front door bizarre as there would be much more likelihood of being picked up on camera

I think I read earlier on that the girls downstairs did hear a noise but thought it was just them coming home or something like that it wasn’t they heard screams or were alarmed.
After watching the layout of the house I am more sure it’s someone that knows them or been in house previously, there was also 2 spare rooms did the killer go in there too?
I hope the police are just waiting for forensic results to come back and the have a suspect in mind but it’s 3 weeks now and nothing

Ah make sure you take care of yourself, I completely understand how you feel! It is a heartbreaking case. There’s been a few nights I’ve kept the bedside lamp on!

It’s been said that the roommates did hear something, I remember it being described as someone “rummaging”, so they locked their doors… whether that was because they thought people were partying or subconsciously fearful who knows? The ceiling also was sound proof and someone who used to live on the first floor said he could never hear anything on the floors above.

I agree it’s someone with knowledge of that house, definitely not an opportunist, way too many risks.

Aww, it's a really atypical occurance. The corridors in that video reminded me of my house (the police said it's like the tardis when they came around for an incident!).

It does make you think about security more. Bedroom door locked at nights now!

Thinking about it I had someone off his head open my bedroom door a few months back. I could tell he was out of it by the noises and started to walk towards the door to lock it when he opened it by mistake. He was really apologetic though.

I suppose the implication of the front door being open at 8.30am is that the killer left that way, which seems strange as it's widely reported that they came in through the sliding doors on the next level up, at the back.

No idea why the 2 on the ground floor were spared

yeah I heard about people probably came thru the sliding door in the back and but I also heard that even though there was a keypad on the door on the first floor, that a lot of people knew the code for the keypad. , this case is so wild.

The first floor of the house was built first and then latter on the second and third floors were added on to the house and I'm assuming they have better insulation in them too. also the rooms of the second and third floors are not over the rooms on the first floor.

some people think that the 2 people were spared because their doors were locked, I could be wrong. But there has to be some evidence in that 911 call that's why it hasn't been released to the public yet.

Yes Kaylee was suppose to graduate this weekend. I understand about not saying anything about the parents. I can understand that they are upset about how the investigation is going but I just saw the Dephani case took 5 years to solve, OMG wow.

yes it was released in press release that the dog was found in another room in the past few days and he was found unharmed and there was no evidence on him. I'm thinking that he was left in Kaylee's room.

The dog was locked in a bathroom while everyone went out that night.
The survivors did wake to what was described as "rummaging" there were 4 people overhead so they just went back to sleep...you're never going to think it's someone being murdered are you??those poor girls will never sleep soundly again over this.
The case has me consumed .I'm having nightmares where I'm checking are the doors locked lol..I am convinced the killer will be caught and it is a spree killer...someone who was out to kill like Ted Bundy..I really dont think it was personal or an ex/stalker...

I just saw that @Lovelula said that the dog was found in the bathroom, oh wow, that's really interesting because that wasn't in the police press release

• here have been numerous requests about the dog found at the residence on the morning of November 13th. Arriving officers entered the residence and found the deceased victims. During the search of the home, a dog was found in a room where the crimes had not been committed. Officers did not find any evidence on the dog and there was no indication the animal had entered the crime scene. The dog was taken to Animal Services and released to a responsible person.
  While the dog was in the house when officers arrived, it has not been determined where the dog was physically located when the murders took place

I'm more inclined to think Ted Bundy type as well. Probably wore themselves out and didn't have the energy to go to 1st floor (ground floor in UK) to see if anyone was there, just needed to exit.

Ah bless you, just make sure doors/windows are locked at night, it’s such a baffling case, I am not surprised it’s affecting people the way it is!

Why do you think it’s a spree killing? Deffo interested on hearing your thoughts… cases like Ted Bundy, Danny Rolling - The Gainesville Ripper and Richard Speck are horrifying and so sad.

I wonder if she was having security concerns? Had they noticed something moving in the house or something being stolen? Had one of them seen or said anything? I know that if I mentioned the above to my dad he’d probs be round that day installing a new lock too.
OR had she been threatened by someone? Was there something going on that was concerning her? Either way I feel like the lock is going to hold key info.
I keep thinking about K and M in bed together, I used to sleep next to my uni girls all the time after a night out. I really hope they were both asleep and had no idea about what was going on

Absolutely, I went to uni with a girlfriend from 6th form and we would crash out together in the same bed occasionally after being out on the town despite being different halls. Nothing unusual in that.

There is an obituary on the internet but I don't want to link to it as i feel that is inappropriate. Verified true.
There are some rumours that she was being bullied .the comments below suggest that this was the reason the 4 were killed.

Even if they didn’t bully her, it only takes the perception of bullying to trigger someone. Or this might be another weird side story.

If she was concerned enough to have her bedroom lock changed would she not inform the police /get an injunction.

Also I think the surviving housemates would surely know as if you think someone might try to break in yoh would make them aware for their safety too.

Unless she did and this is the info police are not releasing. It could make sense maybe someone threatend her and her BF and the girls somehow were involved.

Seems unrelated. The girl was getting bullied and OD'd. I can't imagine the reason for the killings was that. I do genuinely think the killer enjoyed it to an extent and had a mission, whatever that was, vengeance or compulsive.
