This is a photo I took from seaplane when we were there a couple of years ago...guess it depends where you're sitting on plane ( I was right at front, just behind barefoot pilot )
but agree , weather wise, its a very dodgy time to go to Maldives ...those in know wouldn't choose this time to go , if at all possible
l remember her asking about the Maldives around the time we'd just booked to go again and I'd offered her some words of advice re times of yearto go...obviously didn't heed them!

I think what they meant is, if you catch the prop in the picture it's blurry. In her picture it looks stationary so you can see the blades.
 
I think the Maldives are worth the risk at this time of year, it’s so much cheaper than the dry season. We got back last week and hardly had any rain but it was definitely uncomfortably humid and the sea isn’t usually the perfect, calm paradise that you see on postcards. That means the snorkelling isn’t as good and it’s not as Instragrammable 🤣🤣
 
Weather app is not reliable for tropical locations as it will show rain every day even when it's glorious because rain can happen very easily. But they are having an exceptionally bad August this month. There's been a system hanging over the area that's not budging that's brought pretty horrendous weather for weeks now. It's the worst August for many years.
 
I don’t have much time for the way she behaves and why she had to have some big mystery about where she was going, but it’s sad for anyone who has looked forward to something to have not had the best time, so I do feel sorry for her. Her reel basically only has photos of the journey in. I am not sure she can blame it on climate change - it’s rainy season

I don't feel sorry for her. If it was a once in a lifetime trip for someone who had saved for years then maybe but it's just another holiday to her and I'm sure they will go back. Just maybe not pick the month thats in the middle of rainy season next time! 😏🤣
 
I feel sorry for her in the same way I’d feel sorry for anyone who has had a bad time. I’m planning a trip somewhere special for the end of my daughter’s GCSEs (not there!) and I’d be sad if it was ruined, even if I could afford another trip another time: however I still think she’s a dick
