The Girls Next Door/Girls of the Playboy Mansion

Yes, meeeee! I never had Sky so had to wait for them to be uploaded onto some dodgy streaming site. I really enjoyed them at the time, but looking back, you can see the fakery in it all.

I did hear that girls had an early curfew (unless out with Hef,) and given very little allowance. I don’t think they had much control whilst living there.
Yes they had to be back by 9! In one episode do you remember the girls went to Vegas but had to get up at 4am so they could make the most of it and also be back by 9pm so “Hef didn’t miss them” more like he didn’t know what they’d get up to if they stayed over night! In another episode it was Kendra 21st and they did stay over night in Vegas but Holly flew home to go back see Hef.

Holly said on the podcast Call Her Daddy that they got £1000 allowance every week. That was mainly for clothes so they could have new outfits every time they went out. Hef had a tab at a hair dressers where they could go and get hair and nails done etc. Holly said in the days where there were 7 girlfriends some of the girls would try and save the £1000 as much as they could so they could save up to move out of the mansion. Some of the girls caught on to this and noticed the outfits they were buying weren’t expensive/were wearing the same clothes so grassed on them to Hef and his staff and said they were saving the money for their own benefit in the future!

Yes. I can imagine when they get to ‘an age’ or are ‘no longer needed,’ they leave and they have nothing.
They had a roof over their head, fed and maintained for their lifestyle, but never earned a wage to support themselves independently ☹️

Down the rabbit hole only seems to be avaliable on audiobook. Can't seem to get a paper copy for some reason.

Theres a couple copies on ebay for $40 from US sellers you just have to be really good at bidding at the last minute

I found this hard cover one which is super rare. Seller is in California I would offer them $60 it'd be worth it

Omg, we must be the same age because I definitely started watching it way before I should off and I remember quickly turning the Chanel over when my dad would come in (must of known it was too old for me at the time) but I was obsessed I think it was because the girls seemed so girly glam and I loved the playboy logo! I’ve recently watched all the old episodes on YouTube and read hollys book! Didn’t know she had a podcast! Thinking of it now though she would have been the same age as I am now on the show and the fact she’s with an 70/80 year old is sickening x

Good Lord! I don't want to read it that much but good find!

I remember me and my sister watching it in the summer holidays (think we were very early teens) and our parents happened to come in just as Pamela Anderson was naked running with a birthday cake for Hef 😂. We had the whole series on DVD too 😅.
I used to have a dream of going to LA when I turned 18 to try out for magazine (I’m even cringing now typing that). And I thought oh it would be so cool to stay in the mansion and be friends with all the girls.
Oh to be a clueless teenager again ...
I think the show portrayed it as a fun girlie place to live and hang out but sadly I think the reality was far from that ....

Alsoooo did anyone else have a playboy pencil case and stationary set from WH Smith 😂🙋‍♀️

I think Hef really loved Pamela Anderson and would've run away with her in a heartbeat if she would've had him.

I quite liked Crystal (his last wife) - she came across as genuinely sweet and did seem to love him. There were rumours that she was carrying on with one of Dr Phil's sons while married to Hef, but I don't know how true it is.

I'm guessing I'm a bit older than a lot of posters here. At the time it screened, I was working in a very stuffy, conservative, office and one of my colleagues (a younger lady who was an absolute delight), and the day after it aired she'd come bounding up to my desk for a debrief. Funnily enough it wasn't that long ago but being heard talking about it was quite taboo! This prickly man who sat opposite me used to sigh, adjust his tie and carry on whenever he saw her coming.

So what books shall i read from ex bunnies?

I used to absolutely LOVE thos series!!

Bunny tales by izabella st james is a good one, I picked a copy up on ebay for about £6 and really enjoyed it, she was at the mansion before Holly and her book details her time at there up to Holly arriving and she doesn't hold back about her feelings for Holly, it's a good read and an insight for sure.

Yes! I LOVED this show! Bridget was always my favourite. I remember wanting Playboy themed everything for my room. I was about 13/14. Seems wrong now. 😂
Bridget is still lovely. Always shared her love of Halloween and the supernatural.

My favourite too! She seems genuinely sweet and lovely.

I can't believe she's 47 now.

I didn't realise she has a podcast - must give it a listen ... starting with the one about Cecil Hotel.

Hi fellow GND fans! I was about 11, 12 when the show came out. I loved it at the time too, if I had the balls, I would’ve loved to done something like that. I would never want to move in or be in a relationship with someone like Hef, but while I’m young and look good...would be fun and interesting to say I did a playboy or similar type shoot!

If you’re in the states, you can watch GND for free on Tubi. Totally free! I’m rewatching bc a gossip account I follow on Instagram, realityashole, is going to do a deep dive with some Holly gossip. Rewatching it..... they were all vulnerable, it was a different time and they have to watch their own backs....I was team Kendra back then and I still stand by it. Bridget seemed sweet deep down but I feel like Holly is so nasty! Again, a different time back then...
