The Endless Adventure

After watching the caboose overnight video, I am more convinced than ever that the days of RV vlogging with or without Clementine are going to be limited. I am not sure if they are going to outright abandon the 50 state goal, or just race through it as quick and dirty as possible. At some point sooner than later they are going to do some sort of tiny house renovation. They are constantly bringing it up, and I also suspect they see it as the start of getting another source of income if they curtail travel to start a family, or just get tired of always being on the move.

It’s not a terrible idea. I have a gut feeling especially with Alison that behind the scenes she not as happy as she once was with all the travel. I could be wrong. It is my impression.

I will say they seem more realistic than their Brit counterparts the Travel Beans. I know the Beans have a home base now, but still I think having a new born, baby and then toddler the traveling especially in a van will be a challenged to say the least.

Agree it gets mentioned all the time, this time there was an off the cuff reference to “if we buy somewhere”. I think a tiny house build or renovation is on their minds, maybe a baby too.

Travel Beans drive me nuts! They are desperate to get doing YouTube full time. There was a teensy bit of controversy over the donations from followers after their van 'Frank' caught fire in America and they got the insurance payout. They essentially doubled their money and a few people apparently asked for their donations back as they got the insurance money. Don't know if they refunded them but yes they are not prepared for a travel life with a newborn IMO.

Endless? They're ready to get rid of RV life 100% I think!

I thought the Beans got an insurance payout that didn't completely cover the cost of a replacement van, so they used the donated funds plus insurance money to buy the other one. Or I may have completely made that up.
Eric and Allison keep making mistakes such as forgetting to make camp site reservations or forgetting to make sure there are hookups for the site they're renting. I'm not sure what it is they're doing, but they're fumbling an awful lot. Nice kids though.

“Frank” insurance payout was not what they expected as it was insured as a van and not as an RV. They were pretty clear from the get go they were waiting for an insurance payout after the fire, but they did not know the amount.

I like both EA and the Beans. They both have things I find endearing and both have aspects that are annoying. Who knows how they are in person, but they both seem to generally decent people. EA really do seem too disorganized for RV life, and the Beans I suspect are grossly underestimating what a change having a baby will be. I cannot image van life at all with a baby or a kid at all. Other family RV YouTubers I have watch from time to time on Youtube are always getting a bigger RV because their family needs keep outgrowing them. They have giant fifth wheels and class As. A van? Forget it.

I hope EA over the holidays stops and takes stock of what their situation is, what would make them happy, and what is realistic. Buying Clementine is just an example how things can get out of control. As I recall the plan was to buy an old rig, fix it up over a month or so and then drive around in the Autumn of 2020 and on until COVID lifted. I recall after a few weeks when they first bought Clementine they did an accounting how it was actually rather budget friendly. Now they have Clementine with two engine rebuilds, and rebuilt from nearly the studs up, two near cars, etc. etc. What a mess when you think about it. They need to get their act together.

We tried to follow Delightful Travelers, but there is something about their style of travel that is boring for me.

I've watched EA for six years and they've definitely mentioned tiny houses before - in fact, i think they used to mention it a lot more when they rented tiny AirBnBs.
I'm not a fan of the polished videos as much as I was the ad-hoc, winging it videos, but everyone has different tastes. I have missed the taste testing, quirky AirBnB, new city videos so I'm glad they've been doing more of that recently.
I find the Beans a bit irritating, I think they play up to the camera more than EA.

They lost me when they did their "Come to the Dominican Republic, they have absolutely zero Covid safety regulations!!!" during the height of the pandemic. I felt for the Dominican people who obviously couldn't afford to lose tourism revenue so they were forced to put themselves at risk. I felt these people were taking advantage of them for their own benefit. Kind of heartless.
I actually liked their Canada series as I know basically nothing about Canada except that it gets really cold and it seems to be beautiful.

Interesting new video which explains a few things and allows us see the both of them being much more vulnerable due to family stuff.

We were right, the Black Series trailer is ditched, the 50 state challenge is “on hold” and they’re looking at buying land or property in Colorado. I’m sticking with my prediction of a tiny home build.

You can’t help but feel sorry for Allison. It seems that Eric is in for some very difficult times ahead with a sick family member. It does explain a few things. Maybe not everything but still given their job is to travel, and have all that going on in the background is rough.

Yet, I still don’t think they enjoy the RV lifestyle, or at least it is not what they had hoped. Some Youtube channel popped up and it was The Home Tours featuring Eric and Allison giving a tour of Clementine. It looked like it was filmed this past summer before Clementine crapped out on them again. On it they talked about how they probably should have bought a travel trailer to drive around in a location easier, so they had to buy Ruby. All I was thinking is they ended up doing that and they still don’t seem thrilled with that rig either. I just don’t think they are RV people.

I suspect with their recent family issues it’ll focus them to do something new and they will buy a plot of land and build a tiny house or cabin, and maybe even park Clementine their as a rental too. Also, they are both on their downhill slide of their 30s and exotic travel cannot be the easiest thing to do as one ages. My guess is they will to some degree ”settle down” more and travel less.

I feel awful for Alison. She also did not look at all ready to do that video and I don't blame her! They probably need to take a couple of months and process all this.
Yeah it's only been a couple weeks. Surprised she even left home instead of sticking around the house.

I was sort of right. It’s small (if not Tiny) house renovation. I found that second property in the latest video with a single google search. They hated it but the budget is $400 or thereabouts

Channel must be doing ok which is great. I predict them living in Clementine while they renovate then travelling while they holiday let the house.

So they're back to issues with Clementine, they were better off with the camper trailer they kept locking themselves out of.
Yeah. Clementine is a money pit. As long as Clementine holds up they I would not be surprised if at the end of the Summer or so Clementine is sold or turned into a stationary tiny house rental whenever they buy some land.

I bet their fans would be interested in renting Clementine as a tiny house/vacation rental. They did do a nice job renovating the interior.

Is the DW Travels channel theirs or some other entity that is paying them to be spokespersons?
