I'm about where you are on this:

1. Pete will take his "hiatus" to deal with his depression.
2. The Amex issue will get settled.
3. The outrage and momentum regarding the issues on this thread will likely peak at some point, if they haven't already.
4. John and Kevin will realize they enjoy their cruise life style much more than running the DIS shows. That its not easy to just dissolve all the business relationships and that falling back into the old ways is pretty easy.
5. Enough time will pass and Pete will make a triumphant return and take back over.

There is damage going on behind the scenes, but we might be overestimating the impact. Two weeks ago the Dis Patreon had 2,187 patreons. Today they have 2,196. We are in the height of the storm raging around Pete and Patreon membership has actually increased. Most people just arent aware and may never become aware.

Nope. He's done. Outrage and anger over sexual assault and verbal assault and mental abuse will not go away. Your mindset is already letting it happen. Stop it. Pete is a shitbag.

I’d guess around 3500?
And he constantly compared the buying of contracts to crack cocaine. 😟
I mean.. He is one of the few people who has experience with both

DVC is a timeshare, but it's one that holds/increases its value well, which is extremely abnormal for timeshares. If you buy a contract in cash (especially in resale) it's really not a scam, you just need to know what you're getting yourself into.

Where things get dicey is when financing is involved. Monera can finance without credit check and with terms as long as 12 years. I just went to their website and plugged in for an instant quote, using AKL for 100 points at 120 per point (so total contract cost of $12,645, as it also incorporates financed closing costs). I selected the no credit check option, 12 year term, lowest possible down payment ($600).

The interest rate was a whopping 17.9% and the monthly repayment fee was $203.84 per month. Additionally, lender fees (etc.) mean the up front fee is $1917.19. So, doing the math: 144 months at 203.84 plus the 1917.19 due at close and we end up paying $31,270.15 over the life of the loan for our $12,645 piece of real estate with an expiration tag. That's means we're paying nearly 250% more than if we'd just laid down the cash.

And this is for a small contract with a decent point value. You can see where things get dicey quickly when it comes to these things.

I don't fault the people who work for these companies (they're just doing their jobs), but when you watch the DVC show and Pete/Amy/Paul whoever is saying "just finance your contract, it's so easy!" you should understand it's a massive money sink.
I own DVC. I go yearly so I don't see it as a scam. If yall think its a scam I'd love to have that explained to me!

Thank you so much!
Magic Candle Company sucks anyways. None of their products are accurate.. They are simply "inspired by"

Question for @The Mando , and I apologize you have already answered it.
How involved is Pete in MTO? I know that your adorable husband is a realtor on that site, but does he have to work closely with Pete?

I‘m sure you’re right overall and all the details won’t get to everyone, nor will everyone care/believe, but to be fair, when you cancel your Patreon you still show as a member until the next billing cycle. I’d be more interested in seeing those numbers next month.

Unbelievably, Dustin's last weekly show came up on my Recommended list. Even though I watched it the day it came out 8 years ago, I had to watch it again for Pete's tearful farewell.
Dustin, what were you thinking then?
I'm curious to hear about what Dustin's thoughts were as well that last day.

@The Mando I actually think it's pretty cool how much of an open book you are. The few times I hung out with you, you seemed that way as well with anything I asked you back then (other than when you claimed to be in the trucking business doing sales. But hey, I get it). Were you making a lot more money being an escort than working for Pete? If so, what made you want to drop that and start working for him making less $?

Sean, was the idea to create MTO purely Pete’s idea? Sorry if u touched on this before but was he just hopping on the hot real estate market at the time and create the agency to make additional money and give you a stake in it in order to continue to keep you in his circle? Did Pete ever do any real work at the agency in terms of showing homes, working with clients, going to closings etc. or did he want you and the other agents to do the work and he kept his percentage as co -owner?

Glad you have done so well with real estate and hopefully your success continues. Is Pete completely out of MTO? If not wouldn’t that be an asset Amex would look at?

MTO was Pete’s idea and he did do a lot of work when I took over. After Eric, we owned it 50/50 and he was heavily involved at the time and actually worked as hard as I did to try and get things going.

But he got bored of it and he mentally associated it with me and love of some kind so anytime he was mad at me he would just try to destroy it or at least make sure I couldn’t benefit from it as much as possible.

He did actually once to take a client and I ended up stepping in because he flipped out on the guy for texting him later than Pete wanted to be texted. The man apologized a lot and even made a nice post thanking me and Pete in the MTO Facebook group for the help and Pete commented back, thanks and just remember not to text after business hours (or something to that effect) I was completely humiliated. I couldn’t believe he treated someone spending $500k on their dream in such a dismissive way.

The worst part was the man text him and Pete was still awake. He could’ve just left the text for the following day and responding during normal business hours (this was like 9:30pm, not like 3am or anything) and the buyer would’ve just known but he went out of his way to be hurtful. Luckily he decided that real estate wasn’t for him and he’d rather sit around and collect checks.

And I was going to do that with him, forever. I’d have paid him til he died because Pete provided me such a leg up with the DIS. But once he started wanting me to pay for him assistants, set ridiculous rules and all this other nonsense, I had to go.

Lol I did drive around in a truck making sales, to be fair - just not the kind people thought haha.

Oh I made a lot more money before. Pete paid $36k per year, the other def made a lot more but I wanted to do something more with my life and you can’t do that forever and I really wanted to give it all a chance. I could’ve gone back if I had to but I was really ready to close that chapter of my life and have a grown up job.

I don’t think anyone seeks out being an escort; it was out of necessity at the time. I just grew up in a rougher area and wanted a better life for myself.

Much like losing your actual Virginity, you can’t undo it after the first time, so once you’ve done it once, you can never go back to a time where you can say you didn’t. So you might as well keep doing it.

As someone that is also in real estate, there is no such thing as business hours as far as I'm concerned. This is a huge investment for most people, and I want nothing more than to walk my clients through the process and make sure they feel comfortable and have all of their questions answered no matter the time.

Oh but to answer the question, Pete had no involvement with MTO anymore.

I agree. I have 2 clients right now In Hawaii. They get off work at 5pm and we talk on the phone. Those calls don’t start til 11:30pm minimum my time and I’ve never batted an eye.

Ok more thoughts.
I know John doesn’t own dis / the podcast, so pay roll and such is separate, but I do think John would swoop in and try to revive the podcast and brand so that Dreams doesn’t eventually fall by the way side. John wasn’t born yesterday. He is 25 years into this with Pete. He’s probably going to try and protect his brand and the employees that don’t deserve this.

I’ve been watching consistently since 2014. I loved when John and Kevin did dining reviews. I miss the excitement they had for Disney, but i understand they’re ten years older now and Disney itself has changed too. Would love to see a resurgence on the show with them, Panda, Deni, Sean, anyone as a guest really. Bring us some people we’ve loved before that Pete has burned! Lastly, the Kreigers - they moved to FL for jobs that seem to have been orchestrated by Pete. I think they’ll be fine, but interested to see the fall out.
Fiasco too! Bring him back!
