She was a realtor in West Virginia years ago so I think it was a possibility but wasn’t something really fleshed out.

Pete wanted an assistant for his MTO work (which is hilarious) and wanted me to pay for half of it (wasn’t happening) and he was interested in Amy for that job. She did write articles for a time with MTO.
Isn't the part-time MTO assistant job from Hell the one your friend Danielle had?

DVC Rental Store (part of World of DVC) did a giveaway with WDWNT recently as well -- Paul did a video with Tom Corliss. They've also started their own message board/forum - Unlocked Magic. It's subscription based (think $5 a month) but includes a dining reservation finder tool, a dvc reservation finder, monthly virtual classes with a Disney artist ("learn how to draw x") and special World of DVC video shows. It doesn't seem to have a lot of traction yet but from all that they have going on overall, it seems clear they had no intention of being fully reliant on/partnered with the DIS. I'm not sure what would happen with DVC Fan if they were to completely pull away as it seems like Paul and Amy manage most of the content on the site and the YouTube channel.

World of DVC had been sponsoring DVC podcasts before and after they became involved with the DIS. I always wondered what the financial arrangements for their "sponsorships" were because they seemed to be sponsoring alot of programs.

Even after they started with the DIS, they then started their own "show" on their site. They definitely seem to have "big plans" that go beyond relying on the DIS.

Paul and Amy should be fine as their actual jobs are with World of DVC and Monera. If World of DVC moved away from the DIS, I would assume Paul and Amy would go with them which would be a huge problem for Pete, because like you said, they provide almost all of its content.

I am close to someone in the Mongello camp and they said they were in the room when the following happened:

I guess Lou and Beci were at some sort of invite only Disney travel agent function and Pete was there. Pete was drinking and had some choice words for MEI travel, something along the lines of, "we are going to destroy you" and Beci flipped out on him. Now, let me tell you, Beci is a big girl and when she gets her momentum moving in a certain direction there is going to be some damage. Apparently Pete 'fucked around and found out' because she put him on his ass in front of everyone. Pete wanted to press charges but nobody had his back and said he was the instigator. This was circa 2015.

For reference this is Beci with my boy Panda.

If DVC is already a sorta scam I can only imagine what the resell scam is.

@The Mando you looked good here were you guys happy at this time there seems something genuine here? Also did Pete pay for your friendship or was if just a romance after a transaction

Lord no. We filmed these over 2 or 3 days and I can’t remember if it was this day or the other but he flipped out on me. I think it had something to do with him smoking. I know he was smoking in that section near Space Mountains exit and I think someone said something to him about it and it put him in a foul mood, so he was just coming at me all day.

I don’t think paid for my friendship or anything. It was just that he decided we were a couple. When we met, I was struggling in my then relationship and I did go on a few dates, attempting to like him and things would go fine but then I would say or do something he didn’t like and he would fly off the handle.

After I explained to Pete that we were not dating and that meeting and paying to be around me doesn’t mean you ‘know’ me. Prostitutes aren’t going to be honest with what they think of you and he was just baffled at this so I told him we could go on a real date and I would try it out.

Pete booked a 3 day date. He got us a concierge room at the Poly and booked a VIP tour for Saturday (which I had no idea) - he just said ‘clear these 3 days for our date’ and I said, woah! I’m not going on a 3 day long first date, that’s way too long. He was upset because he said ‘you’ve been to NJ and CA with me for days and you’re being ridiculous’ which I explained to him again, that he did not go with ME, he went with an escort, not Sean. So I told him he could pick 1 day and he said Saturday and asked me to ‘clear my day and meet him at Magic Kingdom at 9am’ - no mention of VIP tour or anything so I just thought we were hanging out at MK and getting lunch or something.

The night before the date a friend of mine text me about her birthday dinner being the next day and I told her that I had a date the next morning but I would see when it was supposed to end and let her know. I text Pete and asked what the timeframe was because my friend was having a birthday dinner and I just need rsvp one way or the other because it started at 9pm and our date was at 9am. He told me that ‘asked me to clear my day and that it was rude to ask him that’ - I apologized and said I didn’t mean any harm and wasn’t trying to mess with things, I just needed to give her an answer - so I told her no and it’s all good.

I got to the park for the date and Pete only spoke to the guide all day. He didn’t speak to me once and he and the guide walked at least 5 steps in front of me the entire day. I should’ve left, I should’ve just walked out after the first 2 hours, but I felt guilty because he was angry at me. I think looking back, that’s the moment I didn’t set the boundary that his behavior wasn’t ok and from them on he thought he could treat me like that. And of course I spent all day just apologizing and then at the end of the day, he fired me.

He came around and gave me my job back but the dynamic shifted and then anytime I didn’t do what he wanted, he threatened me so eventually I just got used to apologizing and asking to keep my job. As time went on I got bolder in fighting back but I did go on the dates and try to make it work. But it was made very clear to me that I had to do things to keep my job that aren’t expected or an employee.

DVC is a timeshare, but it's one that holds/increases its value well, which is extremely abnormal for timeshares. If you buy a contract in cash (especially in resale) it's really not a scam, you just need to know what you're getting yourself into.

Where things get dicey is when financing is involved. Monera can finance without credit check and with terms as long as 12 years. I just went to their website and plugged in for an instant quote, using AKL for 100 points at 120 per point (so total contract cost of $12,645, as it also incorporates financed closing costs). I selected the no credit check option, 12 year term, lowest possible down payment ($600).

The interest rate was a whopping 17.9% and the monthly repayment fee was $203.84 per month. Additionally, lender fees (etc.) mean the up front fee is $1917.19. So, doing the math: 144 months at 203.84 plus the 1917.19 due at close and we end up paying $31,270.15 over the life of the loan for our $12,645 piece of real estate with an expiration tag. That's means we're paying nearly 250% more than if we'd just laid down the cash.

And this is for a small contract with a decent point value. You can see where things get dicey quickly when it comes to these things.

I don't fault the people who work for these companies (they're just doing their jobs), but when you watch the DVC show and Pete/Amy/Paul whoever is saying "just finance your contract, it's so easy!" you should understand it's a massive money sink.

Were y'all ever engaged? Did he actually get on his knee and propose?
A question out of curiosity, what was your going hourly rate? And how much did you charge him to go to NJ with him?
