We only had 1.2 mms overnight, however, we had 29 mms last week.
It's a funny old day today, almost 18C, rather windy, sunny . . . not sunny, and humid.
More rain on the way tomorrow thank goodness. We need more rain to set us up for Summer. It was a dry Winter up here and a so so Spring so far.

My first rosebud to bloom is Ophelia. 💐
Ophelia is such a beautifully delicate shade & Wedding Day is a very dainty rambling rose.

Thank you @M&MsMom - I was caught offguard by this one- even Ryan Hall Y'All (who is usually right) said it would just be a low pressure trough last night.
I haven't checked Ryan Hall since early this morning, but I didn't see anything up until then about Milton, which is the one that may be dangerous for you. I watched what I thought was his latest this morning that talked about Hurricane Kirk and Leslie (not to the "M"'s yet!)....I THINK he said Kirk was going to give France a lot of heavy rain, with the way it's moving.

To watch Fanny and Snorts be such bad dog caregivers breaks my heart. I just lost my 15.5 year old. "foster failure". No one wanted her so I kept her. My longest living dog, a " rough collie"" shed like crazy, very protective, people were afraid to come in my yard. Never bite or was aggressive, just protective. She had a rough summer I finally had to let her go. The abuse that poor Ratso 2.0 has to endure makes me so sad. No training, no schedule, no real affection. He should live to be 15 or longer, I seriously doubt it. Hold your fur babies close and tell those you love that you do. Don't take life too seriously. Its not permanent.

I’m sorry for your loss I’m still grieving for my darling Cherry, I had her for 18 years and I can’t think to deeply about her not being here as my heart will break. I do thank everyday that we both had each other for so long and I know we both loved each other. Pets are to be cherished and nurtured. Fanny and Snorts would not know about that as they live such vacuous lives.

Thank you for putting those pics up @Lady Avonlea. ❤

They were here when we bought the cottage and have benefitted from really, really hard pruning. Fortunately they fit perfectly with my garden aesthetic. Ironically, I don't like rose bushes per se. I love the flowers but don't like the actual plant . . . I think they're rather ugly so I underplant with low growing perennials.

I've been ill the last few weeks so haven't had the energy yet to sit through this week's patreon vlog. Sorry! Hopefully tomorrow🤞
Hope you're feeling better soon 💕

I was watching Julie Andrieu’s « At the table of George Sand » where Julie and guests prepare a feast à la George Sand. It gave me an idea…an idea la Jarvis should have had years ago as an activity for Patreon Day.
First, a visit of Sand’s chateau, only 24 minutes away from Lalaland. Return to The Dump for a lunch à la Sand. Visit of Lalaland’s current projects followed by Jarvis reading chosen Sand texts and/or Phi Phi playing Chopin on the piano.
It could be a good challenge for whoever prepares the food on that day. Phi Phi would have to practice and work on his Chopin. Jarvis likes to read out loud and educate the masses.

The theme of George Sand on Patreon Day offers a richer vision of the Dump and its region.
@billybudd has been putting this idea forward for la despicable Jarvis forever. And she has steadfastly refused to acknowledge or use any means close to her to make a highlight of the immediate area. If she did that it means she couldn't keep going away from the place she hates most in the whole wide world, lielande. She shackeld to it and she knows it.

@C'est moi ! We have been pretty busy helping out with the cleanup. Mr. T Rex purchased a trash pump to help get the mud out of people's in-ground swimming pools- pool companies are charging $3K, so we are doing it for free. We're working long hours, have a few things of our own we need to tackle, but aren't as high of a priority when people have it much worse than us. Our refrigerator has been pretty bare for the last few days (meals are a mish mash of random stuff from the freezer), and we were running low on Gatorade and Miller Lite, so Mr. T Rex sent me out to Sam's Club (our big box store) after I mowed the lawn.

At 2PM when I turned into the parking lot, the place was packed as there was a pending apocalypse. People had their carts full of goods and everyone had paper towels and water. 'Wondered if perhaps they had not gotten the memo the port strike had been cancelled, but heard one person murmur something about "preparing for the storm." Based on the morning news, which stated it would just be a low and rain maker, I surmised they were all just being extra cautious due to "hurricane fatigue" from Helene. Toilet paper was wiped out. People were loading up on cases of water. It was a mad house, with a strange frantic energy. My overflowing buggy was just my normal monthly shopping trip, so just shrugged it off- although there were some strange glances at the cute Halloween decor in my cart, and when I remarked, "Is this not adorable? They are right over there!", those in line looked at me as if I had landed from another planet.

When I returned home, Mr. T Rex had just finished at the neighbours' house, so he took a shower while I put groceries away. My phone began dinging with texts from friends about the pending Hurricane Milton. What the fresh hell...?!? So tomorrow will go from recovery back to storm prep. If it hits Tampa as projected as a Cat 3, we're looking at a higher storm surge than Helene and stronger winds. The county is supposed to start clearing the flood debris (furniture, drywall, etc.) from the curbs on Monday, so hopefully that happens or it will end up in the harbor or as projectiles. We'll be making the evacuation call tomorrow based on the path/strength changes. All we can do is prepare for the worst at this point. Stay safe, my Florida Tartlets. ❤

Yes its been a dry winter but spring is making up for it I think!
Boy it rained here last night.

I had to look up your rose Gertie ...... wow , its a beautiful soft pink climber by Austin. They say it has a good perfume too!! 💗
I have the old fashioned Lamarque rose .... its a super climber (we need to cut it back a lot) beautiful fluffy white roses with a touch of lemon perfume .
If I did not have it ...... I think I would plant your Ophelia !
I am so jealous of you and your roses @Pekey and @Gertrude Maud I made myself a small rose garden years ago but have suffered a few losses this year. Following brexit David Austin stopped exporting to France 🙁

Hang on in they and stay safe x
OMG!

Ophelia is a beautiful climbing rose. And the perfume is wonderful. We have two of them side by side in the driveway with the rambler Wedding Day further down. The Wedding Day is quite old with a trunk the size of a small tree.
We may have to cut them down or take them out as they are on a fence along the shared driveway which is where main access to future building work will be. Anyway, we will cross that bridge when we come to it.
Take cuttings. My grandmother was a dab hand a rose cuttings. Just cut off a shoot pop it in a jar of water for roots to form, a little root powder, into the compost and hey presto a new rose plant. No one else in the family has her green thumb.

I am so sorry ...... surely they will start to import again to France?
Still....... in France you have the wonderful Delbard Roses !!!
I once had their climber called Nahema - beautiful pink with a wonderful scent ! Sadly it had to be moved for a shed. They have all sorts of colours and brush roses of course. I bet we only get a small collection of theirs here in Australia but they have a lovely range .
Delbard is in Malicorne Allier France .
Always ask the nursery people what are the toughest roses for your part of France and the location you wish to plant.
I have lost many a Austin and others too - still , on the whole roses are tough tarts ! :)

Good Sunday everyone…

A specially good day for those in Florida and Southern US as Milton is approaching. I am in Northern Europe and I still am not over Helene… been glued to the news, guess it plays with my own fears of hurricanes and floods. But several YouTube channels I watch have reported horrible stories about the terrible trail of destruction Helene left in Florida, west SC, NC and Tennesse… Wishing Tattlers in Florida and other Southerners states a safe week…

@T Rex dear, you definitely are the best neighbor there is... And one amazing puppy mom. Keep safe dear.

I wonder what Carolwhiner NoGooder have to say… isn’t the witch in NC? 😂 Just kidding, we know she is not.

At least ugly-scary-not-funny-clown Trixie, the alopecian poodle, managed to make me laugh (he usually makes want to puke) since yesterday after amazing @KiKiGee revealed the source of Trixie’s fashion inspiration…

He is the most ridiculously funny ugly creature there is and Kiki’s hit the nail on the head. I feel the need to repost the pictures… ridiculously funny.

I picked my first pink rose of the season just now ...... David Austin's Princess Alexandra of Kent.

PinkRoses - I thought of you while cutting it and putting it into my vase.
I do believe we both love roses that are pink the best. :)🌹

Hey Gertie...... how was that rain last night!!!! 💦 Well, good for the roses. 🙃

Another hurricane for Florida! Hang tight and I hope it passes you all by! 🙏
How lovely. Just checked my Pierre De Ronsard climber and the amount of buds is amazing as it's only a year old. Can't wait till they open.

The new little one seems to be more fragile than Ratso. He also seems to hide himself a lot? He looks cold too

Yes it is a big shame the way these feudal arrogant people treated the sweet little dog as a toy. Buying an other one within three weeks after poor Lancelot passed away,

This is cruel and you know nothing about dogs.

You obviously don't know when a dog is being abused.

Their new purchase, Galahad, is still being mistreated. He is constantly shown wearing his harness-other than when he is in bed which for such a small dog must be tiring. In one recent video the owners had received a gift of a knitted ‘jockey’ which could be attached to the harness on the back of the dog. The poor dog couldn’t get away from this strange item bobbing away on his back and he looked terrified as he ran around trying to shake it off. The owners and everyone in the room were laughing as they filmed it. That is one of the most cruel things you could do to an animal who has no say in what happens to them. Is there not one sensible person in the chateau who can stop things like this happening?!

I'd love to see Fanny and Snorts on all fours, forced to wear a blowup on their backs which they couldn't get off, for the amusement of others.
Come to think of it, they probably have.

My Dad and Grandad were like that, could grow anything.

My 93 year old lady I work for has got some lovely rose in her front garden. She told me that her father in law had a passion for roses and at one point dedicated almost half of the once huge garden to them.

She said when she married, her inlaws gave them half of the garden which included his rose beds, to build their house on back in 1952. The roses now in her front garden were her father in law's most prized specimens.

Here is a rough start on animal abuse at the Dump. Anyone can edit or change. The Ratso screenshots have duplicates. I will have to delete the duplicates. We still need to find screenshots of Phillip holding Ratso’s mouth closed, etc., the abuse of the sheep, peahens, etc. I have info on the peahens, sheep, fish, etc. to add. We can add moneymaker 2.0 info and screenshots, etc.

Page 5 is porcelain purchases and continuation of auction purchases.
Page 6 has been added to wiki for travel.
Page 7 has been added for clothing purchases ( we have almost filled up page 3 clothing purchases. Wr can only have 150 screenshots or attachments on each page, shopaholic Stephanie has just about filled up page 3.
Page 8 is animal abuse.
Page. 9 is blank for recipes.
