Thank you SO MUCH Lochy for mentioning this. Deeply appreciated! Mr. Io loves him too. So I'm going to see if we can get in a trip to London. I found the link...

For William Dalrymple fans he is also doing a session at The Henley Literary Festival this year on Oct 1st. Tickets are still available & aren’t expensive ….
I’m actually in France and so can’t make it. (Quite often there is a live stream that you can also pay for but it doesn’t seem to be the case for this session sadly.)

Something savoury. This is yummy 😋

It sounds delish. Are these recipes being added to our special wiki page? I bet no other tattle gossip thread can boast a wiki recipes page!

Now don't get me wrong, I love Waitrose and I miss it deeply. There is nothing in France to compare to the quality and general supermarket shopping experience but... seriously? The eggs have to come from a blacktail something-or-other hen? Free range happy hens eggs won't do? What about blue shell eggs? I blame Jamie 😅

Nope you've not missed it, it's never been mentioned again like he never even exisited.

She's a heartless witch and as for him!
Did they even get the ashes back?

This appears to be causing quite the polemique out there at the moment. I thought I'd share for all tatters out there in peril... Or just all tattlers. Get an eyeful @HalcyonOrganic Dang, but that Chesney Hawkes is lookin' fine.

I bet that crazy woman in Australia that sent her the stained glass will be at her soldering iron making a Ratso 2 and Molly as I type.
No...... it was not me!
They will go up in the attic and never to be seen again.

Did I miss the ashes of Ratso 1 coming home and the burial under a bush by the Chapel?????
Well..... that is what Fanny said will happen. :cautious:
Thought the French drains had to go in first.

….. meh. I am not into guys who use their bodies to show of for money.
By showing I mean showing for everyone to see.

Unlike him, who’s doing videos just for me. When I am sick or so. Just for me to see.

I'm not talking about the fountain in the front courtyard. I'm talking about the yet to be installed fountain for the so called 'English garden'. And I'm questioning how it could possibly cost €40,000 to buy/install and do the garden landscaping for, because at home we have a slightly larger fountain that cost apparently less than £3000 to buy/install. I say 'apparently' because the previous owners had it installed, it's what they themselves told us about it, and I believe them. We did the garden landscaping for the fountain ourselves and thanks to a few cuttings, a bit of grafting, various propagatings, the gift of a few ferns, and two aching backs, it cost us less than £100.

Apologies, I thought you were getting your fountains mixed up and confusing the English garden one with the front courtyard one.

As for the installation price - how does Fanny get any of her quotes? How do we know they're legitimate? We don't, the promised accounts are long forgotten. But even if the price is fictitious, it is very telling that she feels so comfortable sharing it. While to us it is ridiculous, in Fanny's mind it is perfectly acceptable to pay £40K for the installation of an unnecessary garden fountain, but has to sell chipped china in order to afford the £100K terrace reno.

She has a subsiding structure, a crumbling façade, a disintegrated terrace, decayed windows, no heating and yet the bleeping 40K fountain is going ahead - make it make sense!

Why couldn’t Amaury just refinish the existing table? It is so much better. Snorts is an idiot and Stephanie should really cut off his ‘allowance’ on things related to the chateau.

Because Snorts was obsessed with the idea of seating 14 people, which I assume the other table did not. He should really not a get a say at all, not only is he trigger happy spending other people's money but everything from the chateau décor to Fanny's fashion took a dive with his input. I'm not saying the décor was something to rave about previously, but it takes a certain kind of dolt to set the bar even lower.

This is the why the self-appointed Lord of the Manor bought the new table to seat 14.

@lucysartstudio

"I would be happy to do Galahad too"

Just in case some of you Tattling animal lovers would like to commission your very own lil' stained glass piece of art! 🥰 😊

Diana Henry is one of my top five favourite food writers. Her recipes are wonderful and her books are fantastic. Highly recommemded! Sadly, her weekly column in the Telegraph is behind a paywall, which makes me spit - finding her recipes online isn’t easy. She has no website with a handy recipe archive! As well as lovely recipes, she writes beautifully. Her books are almost like essays with recipes.
