Question for the dog-owners here:
I grew up with cats so I’m not an expert with raising dogs. But is common that a young dog… just dies? Does this have to do with the breed of dog?

This dog was still a puppy. Lots to take care of when they’re still developing. Small dogs reach their adult size quickly, so people might not understand they still need a lot of attention (and the right environment). Especially since these small breeds have lots of propensities to a variety of ailments, they always need extra care. Naturally so.

Needless to say, it all exacerbates when the owners are full adults who have never bothered to care for a pet before, and are both endowed with peas for brains and a ravenous appetite for emotional cruelty.

Not really. But Lancelot was a tiny breed that needed more of a kid-gloves approach. He shouldn't have been manhandled and tossed about as we saw in the vlogs. He also shouldn't have been permitted to roam about outdoors in the forest or roadway unattended - as we also saw. He also shouldn't have had a leash attached to a neck collar... it's all too easy to choke, hang, or snap/break a trachea (which I believe is what happened)

I have a tiny dog... I need to be really careful how I pick him up; if I put too much pressure on the wrong spot, I can easily knock the wind out of him or cause him to vomit. I also need to be careful when he's leashed as he could excitedly leap from a car seat or someplace high up and hang himself.

They can.. My brother had a much loved Old English Sheepdog, she got up off the couch one day, stumbled toward the hallway and died! She'd had a heart attack before she was 5 years old.. But a puncture.. Lancelot has been running loose in the woods, he wrestles with big dogs, they throw him up in the air, there's crap all over the place.. We all said he wouldn't last long, we just didn't know which of the dangers would take him.. A place that busy and in such disarray, so many dangers, they should have got a sturdier dog.

It's been about 1.5 years since I last checked in and posted and I was horrified to learn that a new pet was acquired and died. The last time I was here was when the South African student died. I did some investigation in SA and found out the poor student unalived herself and at the time of her death was frantically trying to find ways of raising money to continue her final year of schooling.
I was pretty outraged not over this but also over the treatment of animals at Lalande. I called for people to contact the lical SPCA and file a complaint that would make the SPCA go to Lalande and investigate. I filled out the forms but none of you hypocrites, yes, it's the same members from 1.5 years ago, bothered to do anything about beyond bitching about the treatment of animals at Lalande. If you had actually the bravery to have done so 1.5 years ago and complained, there wouldn't be a dead dog now. She would have never been able to get any other animals if there were enough complaints that the SPCA would have punished her and barred animals on the property. I was the only one who complained. I was the only one who concted FRK ' mother to tell her that Marie wasn't doing well and she needed to check on her. Which she did.
You people are a bunch of hypocrites and like to moan and complain for the sake of it but never bother to do the right thing. You are all cowards and keyboard warriors with absolutely no bravado beyond continually moaning about your faux outrage and do absolutely nothing about it. Shame on you all.

Yes, I wish I had the time and energy to support all the causes I feel deserve it but in between caring for my partner with leukaemia, heart failure and young onset dementia and caring for my frail and nearly blind mother in her nineties I can hardly look after myself. I am not a coward or a keyboard warrior. Well done to you for having acted so heroically.
