......the bastard things are here too and we get them all year.

They use to like biting me but not so much now and I get very little reaction.

Perhaps that's one thing I can thank the menopause for.....mood swings obviously you don't taste so nice, must try harder.

I had a few piques early in the season and since they have left me alone 🤞 I still, however, spray myself religiously at the mosquito hour - 7pm. They seemed to go off me again when my thyroid medication was changed. On the old medication they were all over me like a bad suit! Before the thyroid debacle they pretty much left me alone, which I put down to my manky blood.

Speaking of blood... for your knee op make sure you know your blood group!

This year we've got them nesting under the roof tiles, they're right above the utility room the chatter! Along with the Sparrows, Starlings and who knows what else.

I love it when they arrive, there are loads i n this villagebut by god does my car get covered.

Saw the best thing ever last night, a family of Golden Orioles in the cherry tree. You hear them but never see them as they're so shy.
We get golden orioles and the beautiful bee-eaters, I just love their colouring. We don't get shallows or swifts, which I would love if we did, they only come late afternoon if the weather is a bit on the turn to feed on the low flying insects and then return to the village. I don't think our cluster of buildings is hospitable. We have a couple of gangs of chattering goldcrest who like to bathe in my galvanised lily tub. We always get Nightingales that sing non-stop. They appear to have taken up permanent residence and I love their songs. Hoopees are also a regular. Along with sparrows and various tits. The birdlife community has increased on our land a lot in the last 2 years.

@graciemckitten welcome back. Your insight and input were sorely missed. So glad it was only a short sojourn

Now I've got this stuck in my head.

Yes but does he have a peeeeeecocktail corner?!? I truly hope he does not!

Not quite but the drinkies cabinet did belong to his Nan, it's from the 1950s and it does this (not the actual one as ours if full up)

he does like to show it off now and again, does that qualify?.

According to him this is the cold cure all so I shall be sampling some later. Had a coughing fit in SuperU, easiest way to clear an aisle:

That garden is so neglected! Hedges should have been cut already, and it's full of weed. What a waste of a lovely area. And when is that fountain going to be installed?

If only Phillip was dedicated to the engagement ring as he is porcelain. Who knows perhaps he has something magnificent in the works…

I never heard the ‘e’ in cantaloupe pronounced before. A first time for everything!
Unfortunately she probably won’t need to buy a raincoat or umbrella.

Your dinkkies cabinet is really cool. I love mid-century furniture. I intend on emptying the supermarket aisles tripping people or "accidently" catching them hard on the shins with my walking crutches 😉
What is the King's Ginger?

Too funny. Bravo @Miss Trunchbull

Looks like the lettuce is down the middle of the table! Is that MarIE's work too?

Oh, that's nasty

I just decided I would not sit down at a dinner table to break bread with somebody wearing those pants. How do you say to somebody, I refuse to collude in your reindeer games by eating your awful grifter meal meant to humiliate us in the presence of your waving tiny gonads in our faces?

Perhaps someone should demand he change into something less offensive. In fact, that is an impossible task, he is downright offensive. Perhaps he should be asked to leave the dining room, not to handle any food and generally make himself scarce.

That teapot is not a good pourer. It dribbles. I'd take it back.
---

Doesn't it belong to fanny. What's-his-face, the abused volunteer, that set up the spa in MarIE's floral workshop (prior to it being her workshop) had it in there and offered treatments. Oili was one of his victims customers.
---

Unintentionally, I think, yes!
---

Melons are cropping well this summer, so that will bring the price down.
I used to go & visit my cousin in Aix-en-Provence where the fruit was amazing, you could smell the peaches, strawberries & melons before you reached the market & apparently they come from Cavaillon nearby. Even the tomatoes were special & I took some back to Italy (coals to Newcastle!) - dried out the seeds but they didn't take.GM protected probably.
Lucky you with golden orioles, nightingales & bee-eaters - I've only seen flashes of them in the local wwf reserve & once a whole tree of beautiful bee-eaters (apiastre) gathering to fly north.
But back to CD work - could that be a poncey RING WATCH 12.30 that Snorts had on while fondling the teapot? Couldn't get a good definition.
Thomas Qaresima was the volunteer, not abused but using Lielande to showcase his 'talents' to kickstart his own channel. I did have a few laughs when he made a spa & terrified Ollie, banged on the piano, sang some opera, did some cooking, rifled through the attics for decor, measured a swimming pool, redid the laundry room...truly transactional content for Fanny.

All the more reason, he can't be super allergic seeing as he can trough his way through a creme brulee
Will Snorty fill his engagement tureen to the brim with crème brulee and indulge in a late night feast, then take some of Ratso’s imaginary gastritis meds?

Who thinks Stephanie will be parading around the flower show with her 200 euro umbrella but will have to buy another coat or sweater because she forgot to bring one with her to the show?

Will Ratso go to the flower show? Will he be assigned security to keep the crowds of adoring Ratso fans ( who want to pet the dog and have photos taken with him) under control from stampeding?

Why doesn’t Stephanie sell paw stamped photos of Ratso sitting in the chapel for 250 euros each to fund the rest of the chapel restoration? Pottie will take the photos if he receives a cut of the proceeds.

It is chilly here today so snorts will probably buy woolly jumpers snd Fanny a cashmere wrap. 😡
I’ve slso discovered what they will be having for lunch.

Can we talk about pie and why they're not making any at the infamous chateau ?! Marie, come on make some pies, quiches, tarts, something appetizing and french ! 🥧
I was just at a local rancher restaurant where they serve what they call rooster pie, which is like chicken noodle soup (with chile and corn) with mashed potato on top. Rooster I take to mean an old bird cooked for a long time to make delicious chicken stock.

What is the King's Ginger?

It's a Brandy, ginger and honey liqueur. Sadly not available over here yet. So we have to get people to bring it with them when they visit. Lovely on its own but also be used as a mixer in cocktails. Apparently nice with some fizz.

With his reaction I thought for sure it was the Dick in a Box... View attachment 3029755 q
Stephanie still doesn’t wear her mentos engagement ring. Will she wear it in London? Will she wear another 2000 euro outfit to the flower show?

What gifts will stalker Superfan mousy Wendy bring for Stephanie or Ratso?
Is that a new dress Fanny is wearing? Have we figured out the designer?

Promotional Permasmile is always gifting the gruesome twosome with her “ finds”. She has given Snorty a bracelet, a tureen, did she give him a brooch? She had given Stephanie a bed frame, the tureen, dollar soaps, and got Snorty to purchase the spinner necklace that she wore once. She gave Stephanie some of her older dresses that she could no longer wear.

What else has she gifted the gruesome twosome? What have the gruesome twosome ever given to Permasmile and hubby? When hubby had his birthday dinner at the Dump, Pemasmile and hubby ate a huge late lunch at a restaurant in the village. They knew that a micro dinner would be served at the Dump.

Perhaps Snorty can match up tiny plates to his new tiny teapot and use the tiny plates for the 75 euro Dump meals so the quantities look larger.

M&M........ would this work on roses that have mildew too ??? 🌹
I have a problem with it and the darn black spot too.
Just pruned my roses today .... its winter here.
I only speak from experience but yes, I got rid of black spot on roses & a bonsai Ficus Benjamin that was thrown out - be sure to sterilize the secateurs afterwards though - the soap, Marseille or liquid is really for washing away insects/aphids. Neem oil does the job as well but is expensive to use on a big garden.
