It’s a very long time since Stephanie gave patrons any meat on the bones on progress (or not) relating to the architect’s proposals for shoring up the Grand Salon and the area above, not to mention the additional works for which estimates were going to be sought.
Realistically, the Grand Salon won’t now progress an inch until after the B&B season. Even though the punters aren’t in situ throughout the working week, the amount of disruption upstairs - floors up, walls being removed - must make having B&B guests a non-starter. Another six months with nothing happening?
I suspect the architect’s report on the GS and the bedrooms above was a nasty shock. The architect appears to be very thorough and won’t gloss over the reality of what’s required. Who knows what structural horrors he found lurking at that end of the house.
Stephanie might also like to address progress with the planning application and what elements - if any! - will be undertaken and when - if ever!
it’s her 50th birthday next year. Other than the chapel, will anything have advanced?
