If Fanny had got the heating installed and finished in April as she said they wouldn't have needed yet another wood burner in the Winter salon. She actually said to Nick in a recent flog she was getting it incase the heating wasn't working. So sad and wonder how two people came to fall. Were they using her cherry picker or a hire one? Undoubtedly at that height scaffolding is safer for people working. Remember the flog where Fanny steps into a cherry picker from her window, none of them is secured or using a safety harness. Ian, MM and now this poor man and another injured. Life Love and Laughter not so much really is it. Fanny must also be jaded by all this you would think she would want to stop now. If the press get wind this could speed up channel4 cancelling DIY

I was puzzled at the end of SJ'S vlog. The concert with guests which usually follows their evening meal but then we see the lalanders at the kitchen table eating a meal cooked by Mariee.

It does fall into the suspected time line of the accident happing at the HMN on the 23rd and THEN nick panicking to get safety PASSES for his business. I don't believe it was anyway related to him but has given him a wake up call.
Does anyone remember mention of narrative they'd do so much work the get then professional to finish off? Much as the two smuggles do in there shitoo as do many others like Dan with electricity etc. And it all went pair shaped hence anmury reaction.

Sorry to be cynical but my guess is that Fanny isn’t giving any details about the tragedy because an attorney has advised that anything she says could be used against her in court. Her silence probably has nothing to do with any kind of respect for the deceased man’s family. She’s only trying to protect herself. Yes Fanny…it’s all “live, laugh, love” and shits and giggles until someone gets killed. You’d be surprised how fast your frivolous spending money dries up after that…you REALLY might be crying poor and bumming euros from Teabag.

Also it’s more than likeply he witnessed the accident and was involved with the aftermath it can be traumatising. I had to deal with a medical emergency at work a while back and I nightmares about it for 2 weeks.

But if not, then I think we will soon find out who was involved in this tragic affair because Fanny will want to be front and centre of a fundraising effort to help the affected families and she will have to name them. She won't be able to help herself. Just like she did with Mmakhotso Moloi. Make it all about her.

I am wondering whether Amaury was actually recording the activity for a later CD vlog, given that Channel 4 footage is not allowed to be shared until they have aired it on TV. If that was the case it would be so traumatic to witness.

I think Puy Vidal reads here sometimes. In today's vlog they went to the local dechetterie after cleaning out their cottage and mentioned how easy it was to get rid off things. That reminded me of the discussion here from a few weeks ago when everyone was frustrated when Snorts brought back some dirty mattresses from a failed attempts to give them to Emmaus and dumped them in the barn.
But I do like their cottage renovation, I like how efficient and organized they work.

Also for those here trying to reconstruct the timeline from the accident and the last week: They said in the vlog that the Puy Vidal Halloween celebrations with friends were on Monday & Tuesday.

A week or so ago Dan disappeared for a few days, because he said that he wasn't getting enough work done, while faffing around with his camera. When he returned not a lot more work seemed to have happened....
There does seem to be a news blackout about where and what happened, which I would hope is in consideration for the family, and not to save her scraggy skin....

I'd like to think Nathan would not be that stupid. IT never works out cheaper for the client as the professional usually has to redo all of the shite work that's been done before and charges accordingly. It could also come back to bite you in the arse as far as your decinale insurance is concerned.

Insurers may want t know what has been done by the client and what's been done by the professional because as the professional you're not going to take the blame for work you've not done.

I genuinely feel for Amaury. I know that when the emergency services have to deal with some accidents, they operate on adrenalin, do what is necessary. The shock of what they've seen, and dealt with happens later.

I know it probably won't happen, but I hope Amaury gets counselling, if he witnessed, or was first on the scene of the accident. Better still, never go to that dump again.

After this tragedy how does Fanny film her silly Advent Calendar and put on a happy Xmas face opening Cadeux holiday crap?

Tragic death and sickness have never stopped Fanny putting on a happy face after a short "poor me", seeking sympathy phase. She quickly recovered and returned to the circus performances after the South African student's death; after plasterer Ian's death, and after the declaration of Percy's serious illness. I know this sounds very cold but I can't help thinking that the request for people not to speculate about the contractor's death was in case anyone suggested it might be due to neglect at the chateau, and thereby implicating her, rather than the possibility of the grieving family reading vlog comments which seems something rather unlikely in the circumstances; they may have no knowledge at all of the Chateau Diaries. She should have just made a brief statement and left out all the other footage about the dog; meeting Gerry, and Maria. Fanny seems incapable of any real understanding or empathy. Amaury was clearly very shocked and distressed and is not just putting it on for the camera. I think he is a genuinely empathetic person. I know he can be a bit daft and laddish as in the recent "balls" cooking episode but he was probably aiming that at Fanny and he's a good person at heart. He knows what state those buildings are in and he has often tried to make her see sense. He knows how dangerous his job will be when he works in the Gand Salon; I am sure he wants out of it. However, he clearly loves his parents and I guess they want him to stay. His mother really seems to love Fanny as she probably realises how damaged she was in her childhood. I really hope Amaury can escape from LL before the Grand Salon work begins.

A while back Fanny said Snorts needed to get back to the dump because of the heating installation. Why was his ‘ authority’ required?
I thought in the first post that Fanny made saying no vlog due to a tragic accident at the dump meant she was not there. I think they were on their way back from Germany.

We do know the chapel restoration was going to start on the exterior and even with Fanny’s Lie lines they have done nothing much with the scaffolding in ten days,
It was the heating guys I’m certain.

Frk. She it trying and possibly succeeding in making herself indispensable. Dog sitter, florist ,cook ,house sitter ,seed sower and dried flower arranger too.

In the early days Gerry appeared to be on hand to help with decorating and amateur fixes but has little to do with the Lielande now. Why does she still need to trot him out for Channel 4 appearances? He hasn't had anything to do with the heating, grand salon, the chapel, decorating the bluebell bathroom, the "garden" and woods, cooking, travels, etc. He's surplus to requirements so no wonder he felt had to try to big up his part with his crass behaviour at the piano. He desperately needs to try to hold on to his You Tube Star status for the grannies of Framlingham.
