I went to switch it on, but looks like it was over not long after an hour. There's no excuse why they couldn't make the finals 5 sets. No wonder it doesn't have the fanbase needed to sustain it.
 
It started to get closer towards the end then it was all over. I do like sabalenka - but it’s hard to get to know their characters in an hour

I guess we should be grateful we are allowed to play at all 🙄😂

I doubt the women could play 5 decent sets if they only ever do it in the final. They wouldn't be used to playing for that long.

Men only do it at the slams don't they? If so then poor little men, how do they play decent sets? They can't be used to it given they only do it four times a year.

No.

They play 5 sets all the way through and not just in the final. And it's often telling which ones have spent more time on court.

If women are going to play 5 sets, then it should be all the way through and not just the final.

Did not expect you to take 'four times a year' so literally.

Let's not pretend women play three sets because everyone is so concerned for our wellbeing and physical strength. It's patronising. The reality is women's sport isn't as popular and no one wants to give it any more air time.

It's undermining women's sport and don't let anyone fool you otherwise. We can play five sets.
 
It would clearly take a total shake up for women to play five sets … doubt it will ever happen. Not even sure the women are asking for it.

Those first grand slam final nerves are getting to Sinner, and Meddy doesn’t even let him get into the match properly. This could be a quick one, but my guess is that Jannik will fight back in the third before Daniil closes it in four. He seems on fire today.
 
I just love the psychology of sport and it’s so clear in tennis - the highs and lows of how top class players cope on different situations and even more so over the course of a five setter
