That is awful!!! I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure a woman in labour is quite at the top of the list when it comes to prioritizing. Especially if it's a home birth and something has gone wrong!

I was in early labour with my twins, water had broken before they should have, unfortunately didn't have a car so we tried to ask around, called for taxis, none, so midwife said call 999 for an ambulance only to be told by the operator "we're not a taxi service, find your own way there". In the end a lovely, lovely old man who should have been enjoying his weekend offered to drive us there and even came back to say hello to our babies 😊 to make matters worse, I ended up having an emergency c section because one twin got very distressed within minutes of me arriving to hospital. Shocking.

Tl:dr: basically got told by the ambulance service they don't give a toss about women in labour and they're not a taxi.

Yeah a lot of people have been told that here. Always advised to not ring an ambulance and to make your own way to the hospital.

I've never actually posted but have been lurking since 2020. You're right. If you're birthing at home midwives have an ambulance on standby that will be with you in minutes. I've had a couple homebirths, last one in 2020 in the height of the pandemic when ambulances had hours upon hours of wait time, I lost 2 litres of blood and had 2 ambulances outside my house within 10 minutes of midwives spotting the problem and deciding I needed a blood transfusion. My first home birth baby was born and wasn't breathing, again ambulance was there within minutes, thankfully we didn't need it as she just needed some help from midwives.

I think a woman in early labour that hasn't planned to birth at home and just has no way to the hospital is fairly low priority as birth in itself isn't a medical emergency. They expect you to provide your own transport, which imo is fair considering you've had 9 months to prepare. I say that as someone who lived a hour away from the hospital with my first and no own transport and terrible rural bus schedule.
Obviously if you've gone into labour and there's clearly a problem like baby is premature or you're high risk for labour then you'll be higher priority.

Going back to lurking now, just had to put my 2 cents in.

It is funny but it does make me think that Charlotte and Brett are not as innocent as they like everyone to think 😂. Charlie is still a POS but Charlotte does post sly things to provoke 😂
Charlotte does it more subtly where as Charlie makes it really obvious. Like I bet people tell Charlie what Charlotte has post or done and it goes over Charlie’s head because of the way Charlotte does it where as Charlie does it as a more in your face

Charlotte’s been doing this for months. She knows full well that the more wholesome and clean cut she portrays herself to be, the worse Charlie will look. I’m just surprised it’s taken this long for people to clock what she’s up to. It’s all childish game playing, using Harlow as a pawn. They all need to grow up, get off social media and get on with their lives
