I mean I see your point to a degree, but I also think she was cruel and knew what she was doing by putting his mental health issues on blast to the world, when that’s never cool. She could have called off the dogs that have hounded him on SM relentlessly but her silence has always spoken volumes. I’ve concluded that she easily ignores what she’s wants to and like blurring the screensaver etc she’ll react to what she wants, when it affects or benefits her rather than out of respect for the other person. Some fans have been banging on about Joe locking her up and never letting her go anywhere since the release of Bejewelled, and taking him to task for it, but now the narrative looks a bit different when she’s directing said music video with a screensaver of a lovely pic of them both, which doesn’t play into the victim story that she allowed to run and run, just my opinion.

The fans have become increasingly toxic. I blame social media. It wasn’t like this “in my day” ha ha 🤣 I am so old!! Taylor allows the narrative to run by sharing her story in her lyrics but these fans are something else.

I honestly don’t think they’d let it lie if she said “we were 2 adults who fell out of love and the relationship ran its course”. They would twist her words, accuse her of lying, her of cheating or him cheating. They’d say it was PR or part of some agreement. While I do think she should have spoken out when some people make allegations that Joe was a physically abusive drunk 😱 people would not have stopped. That said, she has a responsibility to show that speaking up and ‘doing the right thing’ is important.
 
Taylor wouldn't have got to where she is today if she didn't have the ability to be completely tunnel-visioned. I don't think the Joe screen thing would even have occurred to her – I suspect that she's a very 'out of sight, out of mind' person, and when a relationship is over it very quickly becomes fodder for her next record. She wrote quite specific things about Joe's mental health and Matty's drug issues, so I don't think she cares much about the impact on the men unless they hit back at her (Calvin) or threaten legal action (John M).
 
I disagree with them not listening to her, i’m sure some would have as her voice is the only one they hear, she definitely holds sway, and by staying silent she made a choice. She might think she owes them nothing once it’s done, fair enough, but you must have quite a vindictive streak if you aren’t bothered that a stupid amount of strangers are being awful to someone you loved for 6 years plus about things they know nothing about?! I remember this interview she did on Seth Myers and I think this one line will always sum it all up..

I really don’t think Taylor personally asked to have that lockscreen blurred - tbh the releases that aren’t music (merch, websites etc) I think she just signs off and then doesn’t care about them. It will have been her team decided that.

Also, I think she made that speech about John Mayer because of what the fans had done to matty. She obviously was very angry at them around the time SNTV was being released because she blamed their reaction to matty for their break up. I think she was telling them to back off from attacking people connected to her full stop, not just John Mayer. That was her telling them to stfu in general 😂 just happened to be able to be hidden behind her defending him.

One of the other Chiefs WAGs said in a comment that it was a Congratulations party to celebrate the tour. People seem to be dressed in Eras theme (Ashley with the snake, Brittany in a Karma jacket, Travis as himself from the TTPD skit).

It all feels a bit tacky doesn’t it, and I’m not sure he even needs Taylor there when the ick inducing Ross is attached to them by the hip! Before Taylor and Travis got together I really liked the Kelce family, they do/did a lot of good for charities via the teams they play(ed) for and Kylie seemed a good egg for the autism foundation she works on, but it’s been a relentless none stop promo for all of them, it’s been too much. Also the way she’s made so much of the Eras tour about him, I dunno, it got weird. I didn’t see her ever doing that if she was still with Joe. He's a big personality but we’ve already had the party girl Taylor era with the squad days and 1989 when most of us were going through the same kind of phase. It just felt like she grown so much during the folklore evermore, matured, but its felt like we’ve reverted back to frat party days since her guy on the Chiefs came from nowhere. She is obviously having fun living her life etc but I fail to see where the substance to this relationship actually is. When the pap walks of the NFL season is over and the eras tour gone what would they actually talk about 🤔

When it was reported that she had a night in with Travis despite the rumours of a party I was like fair enough. Still feels a bit depressing to me because girl you have friends too but whatever, maybe she’s tired of the tour and needs time to switch off

But you’re right it’s like she’s a product for them. Maybe she’s cool with it but like… idk just odd

I think if it was a random party at some random point in a random year I’d agree, but seeing as it was supposedly to celebrate the end of the eras tour I don’t really see the problem with it because it’s celebrating her achievement.

I do think it’s weird however if it’s just people she knows through dating Travis, rather than having her own friends there to celebrate too. To me that’s where it feels like it’s the interest in Taylor the ‘famous brand’ rather than Taylor the person.
