New Romantics is great. AYHTDWS and I Know Places though
I never liked New Romantics lmaoNew Romantics is great. AYHTDWS and I Know Places though
I hated WTNY on first listen… it grew on me a bit but was never a top Taylor song for me.I can’t stand the vocals in WTNY, it’s so screechy justice for New Romantics as the true opener of 1989
Yes - I know what you mean. And the trumpet sounding instruments I feel are a bit random and don’t work for me in the song. Babe is such a great song, and I get how she probably had to make it different from the sugerland version, but definitely dont see this version as an improvement on it. I prefer the original.Does anyone dislike her rendition of Babe with the ‘what about all the promises’ line? I feel like it completely throws the whole track off - this was one of my most anticipated songs for the rerelease and I just can’t listen to it
I really like Lover as an album, despite it not being a fan favourite.
Lover is my favourite album! And Cruel Summer is my favourite song…nothing beats singing the bridge at the top of your voice. Also Daylight, often overlooked and it reminds me of my past relationship. What other people have said about it representing a really happy period in her life is true, you can tell by the style of the songs she sings. There’s far too many to list but Cruel Summer not being the lead singer was a major let down by whoever decides these things
It makes me sad it’s not being re-recorded with vault songs!
Forever Winter is now my second favourite behind 10 Minute All Too Well. The Vault songs just hit different. I can’t wait for the Rep ones!
I just saw a trailer for some animated movie out in May 2022 and it had Bad Blood on it. I'm guessing Taylor's version...
I don’t see why she wouldn’t submit it for a Grammy nomination. It’s a wonderful price of work. I don’t think it will win because folklore won last year but if you were to take that out of the equation it should win. She’s not going to ever hit a peak where she decides no more Grammys.Evermore got a nomination for aoty. It's way too similar to folklore to even be nominated, I can't believe she even submitted it. It's almost like she feels entitled to grammys now, she's gotten greedy and too dependant on that validation as if she's not at the top of the industry.
I know what you mean. It seemed like this in the miss Americana docu when she was upset that rep hadn’t really got any nominations and it seemed like it really affected her view of the work, and then the rest of the doc when it focused on her working on lover definitely positioned it as ‘well this will be the album that proves the Grammys wrong and I will get the awards the next time around.’ Which obviously didn’t pan out like that, but which is why i do feel lover is a bit like a ‘record by numbers’ at times.Evermore got a nomination for aoty.
