Billie gets a HUGE amount of crap in the music world. She's been told she's faked her depression and given a tonne of shit. There's been misogynistic comments and attitudes cast at both of them simply because they are both talented, beautiful women who do their own thing in a male dominated industry.

I admire Billie for actually keeping her mouth shut about a lot of the comments and shit that goes on. I am sick of celebs sticking their nose in and adding their 2cent to everything. Billie didn't need to say anything because Taylor is more than capable of standing up for herself, which she did. Billie is clearly a fan of Damon's and she shouldn't have to never associate with him because of one comment in one article that may or may not have been completely misconstrued just because it may upset Taylor. I wouldn't think Taylor would be that sensitive about it either.

But you're clearly offended by it and that's your right I suppose. Agree to disagree.

I'm not massively worked up about it. I'll sleep fine tonight, lol. In the grand scheme of things, this doesn't matter. I've just got to the age where I call out shitty behaviour when I see it.

FWIW I was a massive blur fan in my teens. Yes, I'm THAT old. I loved Damon. But I learned the expensive way (via ridiculously overpriced music magazines) that Damon Albarn was an arrogant twat. Interviewers disliked him. His own bandmates disliked him. There's no smoke without fire. My 16 year old self made excuses for him in my head, but I knew deep down. We can all act like pricks at times... but some people just ARE pricks. Like full time.

I don't for one second believe there wasn't a discussion about how bringing DA out on stage would look. Billie knew what she was doing. This wasn't her being silent on the subject, sadly. Far from it.
 
I'm in the market for a new car - it's exhausting because there's feck all choice of newish-new as so few cars manufactured since covid and prices have risen for that reason and others.

Anyway, I'm looking something bigger, probably, but noticed that Suzuki have a colour option of Burning Red for the Swift. This CAN'T be a coincidence, right? 😂 I don't think it's an official link, but it's definitely a Taylor reference?

I did a search to see if it was an official link but can't see anything. I did see a dealership selling it (brand new) for a LOT less than that in June last year. Could have been a huge promotion, but still. Stupid price rises.

I did have to talk myself out of it though. I'm in my 40's. 2 teenish kids (no space needed for push chairs etc, but still). I can't be going for something too small and buying a Taylor Swift car. I cannot.
 
What’s everyone’s favourite album? Since the rereleases I’ve been going back and listening to everything (sorry Taylor). I still think Red is the best, most cohesive album she’s put out yet. No album is bad and I genuinely would have said Folklore before listening to everything again but Red still ticks every box for me.
 
It's so hard choosing a favourite! I would say I listen to folklore, Red and 1989 the most. I like evermore too but took me a while to get into it whereas folklore was an instant love. I was initially very meh about reputation but it's grown on me so much, the tour on Netflix is incredible.

I really hope she tours soon I've never seen her live and so desperate to go!

I was thinking earlier about all the vault tracks on the albums that haven't been re-released yet. Which album vault is everyone most excited for? I think for me it's Speak Now because the Taylor from that era was savage! The girl who wrote and released Dear John and Better Than Revenge did not give one single shit 😂. Or debut because I want to hear some of the really early stuff that has never been leaked!
 
I'm most looking forward to Rep. To see what happens with the possible karma thing. The tour was so incredible. Best live show of any description I've ever seen.

I love all the albums but Folklore is an actual masterpiece. It felt like a turning point. Like even if your favourite song (or top 15 songs) isn't on it, it's just so cohesive and beautiful.

I'm too old to be looking forward to debut.😂

My eldest is 13 so not much younger than she was writing it. That is scary. How are some people just so talented?? I keep looking for any scrap of world dominating talent in any area from my offspring, but alas no. No early retirement for me. Sigh.

For me lyrically Folklore and Evermore are far superior than any of the other albums. The lyrics are so beautiful and cohesive they could be poems. I feel like those albums have helped find so many more fans.

So unpopular opinion Id prefer a new album at this point than a re-record.

That being said I love every other album, I love that there are lyrical connections from debut to newer albums. The line pairs get me every time.

The obvious one..

Loving you is red / I once believed love would be burning red but it's golden. (RED / DAYLIGHT)

Romeo Save Me / You dont need to save me, but will you run away with me (LOVE STORY / CALL IT WHAT YOU WANT)

But my favourite is

But I know you wouldnt have told anyone if I died for you / I'd die for you in secret. 😭 (COLD AS YOU / PEACE)

I also really love the self reflection on Folklore / Evermore. That she's older and wiser and that all of pain she has suffered romantically has been worth it because she can recognise now that it's wasnt always the other parties fault.

Man I could talk about the songs on those 2 albums all night.

I love finding the parallels/reused phrases as well! I always get a little jolt of happiness when I notice one for the first time!

I have a theory that a lot of the songs on Lover, folklore & evermore were influenced by Taylor going through her back catalogue when she was starting to think about re-recordings. I can just imagine Taylor surrounded by her old journals and demos and getting inspired by her own work, because she's just that good 😭

I can imagine It's Nice to Have a Friend being inspired by Mary's Song- it's the same story but told in a more mature way.

And I don't really believe this one but it's so fun to think about- imagine Taylor listening to the 10 minute ATW and wondering whether to release it. She hears "fuck the patriarchy" and thinks "you know what I was right, fuck the patriarchy" and writes mad woman 😂

There are loads more examples as well but this post is already long and I've started on the wine so I might come back to this later 😂
 
She was right. Real love isn't red. Or black and white. It's golden. But young people expect it to be red.

I love that on pretty much every single song there's at least one line that is just so inspired/clever/beautiful/witty. Even on the simpler or comedy/poppy songs (Me! being a rare exception). Like who else gets it right so often?? Nobody. She has maybe 50 album tracks that would be ridiculously successful and well known songs if anyone else had written them.

I also love that she can and does do any genre. You can ask someone what their favourite song or musician/band is, and you can come up with a song of hers that could be one of theirs, only better.

So, do we think she's going to the Met Gala?? And if she does (which I think she will as Ryan and Blake are hosting), is she going to walk the red carpet with Joe?? #yourbuzzcut #myhairbleached

I hated her last met gala outfit. Mostly the shoes. But not digging the silver either. I'm not completely opposed to Bleachella, but that look was bad.

She normally looks flawless too and rarely gets it wrong. Imagine meeting the love of your life on the one night you look awful? 😂

With hindsight it's the lipstick that's the worst part. Although the pic on the stairs is quite cool actually.

I think it's also just not very her, or something.
